I got mine from goodshiped and he didnt lie: Second batch has no warp heads or peeling in armour. But no word was said about oil. And even after opening and exposing sometimes it took days until showing up. As a seller, he did sent me a perfect one. But after a period of time of two weeks of shipping, it showed up. After I told him it had the oil defect he was the first to offer to trade the figure. Until now, perfect seller to me...

Yes, by any seller's understanding, they might have oil free figures but it's not to say your figure won't start having the problem once you get it. Hot Toys is really the only place to put blame in this matter, it's possible for shops to sell oilly figures knowing they're such, but this problem can also show up after it's out of their hands and unknown to them. Hot Toys is the only group that can actually be held responsible for the oil problem because they made the figure.

I've read of some shady practices by Sunny, but personally I have no quarrel with the man. I've never had a bad dealing with him yet. Yes he sent me Joker shoes when I should've gotten Cop Joker shoes but he fixed that problem. So we will see. How long ago did you buy the figure Thrust?

I've bought in on february 21th. so it's been now a while. I couldn't resist anymore, so I've bought this for a second representation of the figure, wie the sonar eyes, backpack etc. I'm waiting then for the DCD-batch for the complete figure. But until then I have this 'loose' fig :)

Well, at last some info from Hot Toys customer services. I got an email from them this morning saying that they will replace the body of the DX02. This is all I can ask from a manufacturer who has made a mistake. But a word of warning to all you guys waiting for the mythical 3rd batch. Bad news I'm afraid, this was part of my mail reply

"the oil leakage problem has been greatly improved in the body that we are sending to you.
There may be slim chances of leakage, but it shall not cause much inconvenience to your enjoyment of the collectible figure"

They have been very polite and friendly in their responses to me, so I guess it really is a problem they do not know how to deal with.
Regardless all I wanted was an offer of a solution, and their email today has restored my faith in them. Now whether I actually take them up on it is another matter, probably cost me as much to post the damn thing back to them as get a new one!

I don't think you'll have to send the old one back, maybe, but it seems like with the other issues where they offered replacements on this figure, the policy has been you destroy the one you have and send them photos of it and they send you a new one. I suppose you might pay the shipping to get it here, but I'm sure that's a lot less money than buying the figure all over again.

I had recieved the same email as Rory this morning and they are asking for you to send it back. I wish it was the destroy route would been much easier. Now I have to wait for them to get it before they ship out the replacement.

Can't see why they'd be calling for people to send them back now when destroying them was acceptable before, but at least people are being given an option now instead of being told off with some lame here's how to fix it response.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl I was right again...

OK folks, wait for a 'perfect' DCD shipment... : points and laughs :

At least they are now acknowledging a problem. I suppose there isn't a lot else they can do. The worry is you spend whatever amount of money and time and effort, then there is no guarantee that the replacement won't be leaking as well?

But thank u Hot Toys for dealing with the issue in some form.

Maybe they have been reading here regarding saying to some to cut it up carefully to make a diorama scene out of the body parts when Fox shows Wayne the new suit in the drawer.

If Hottoys recognize not have solved the oil problem yet , then, All batman figures will have this defect in greater or lesser extent.

I think that goodshiped is a good, polite and friendly seller (I have many trades with him) , but the Batman figures that they sold as "Second Batch" were simply "revised first batch".

About studio Sunny, well, he solved my problem with John Connor,s head v1.. but they are sellers, and this is their job after all.

I suppose, but I've always thought that the destory it policy with collectibles was so that you couldn't fix it up and end with 2. Even if you strategically cut the suit for a dio, you don't have a second figure, and the base body should be destroyed so you can't put that to use. I can't see them being concerned about a few people making a dio out of cut up pieces of the suit, but you never know, it'd be better PR on their part to let people have that option though.

To be honest, it feels like Hot Toys is bouncing all over the place, one day they say to some "we are looking into it" another they say "it's a reaction between upper and lower" next it's "we've revised the suit but can't guarantee no leakage".

Not really trustworthy showing that is it?

That seems typical of a lot of corporations. The people replying to emails and Facebook are likely just people that can sit at the computer all day typing that stuff up, while those actually looking into figure problems are another department and not necessarily sharing the information they have thoroughly or with everyone they need to. Communication is so important in business and yet it seems like it's very often the one problem most businesses have. I find that actual teamwork and everyone within a company working together like a well oiled machine doesn't happen often, it seems like departments just worry about what they have to and aren't concerned with other departments.

I recieved my DX Bats from Sunny 2 days ago and all 4 abs were wet

The sticky bomb UN is fragile though isn't it? A Guy on cfacebook showed how his sticky bomb gun got messed up when he got his DX Boatman. That thing looks like fat bastard sat on it. All sorts of warped.

Guys my DX 02 Batman will arrive soon. This oil problem will damage the suit or not? Any suggestion about how should I clean it and not cause damage on the paint or on the rubber?
