Super Freak
I've got two batch 2s here and they are both now producing more oil than Iraq. Oh well....i'm gonna be rich!!!!!
Well the oil is going to damage the figure eventually if it keeps leaking the oil. It must be coming from somewhere. If its a chemical reaction then the suit will start to deterriorate eventually. Maybe not now. Maybe not tomorrow but definitely after the warranty is long and up. By that time Hot toys will say oh sorry your warranty is up we can't replace your figure. So sorry.... then what will we do??
if it keeps leaking the oil
i bort it on march 1st and it arrived on the 8th - im in the uk. have u requested a tracking number? when u first see it its breathtaking. the oil is now drying so meh im not gonna moan about it like everyone else is. its amazing is this figure the mouth sculpts are my fav bit and the sticky bomb gun is incredible
Well it's not to say whatever this material is won't be damaging, but at least from what I experience, it's not as though all the moisture within the suit is being sucked out. Given the thinness of the rubber, it actually seems like more residue builds up than could be contained within the rubber. It sucks but with HT's nonchalant response to the problem, this figure's shaping up to be enjoy it while you can, but don't be surprised if it's ruined in the not too distant future, the only consolation being that a 3rd Batman movie is in the works, might be a different suit again, but there's the potential for a figure as nice as this DX but made of more reliable materials than this one.
This may have been discussed already as I have not read EVERY post on here - but a lot of them... Anyway - I don't have mine yet but if I had to guess, the factory just used too much of the lubricant used to apply the suit before it went on the truetype.
I took apart a Hot Toys Apollo Creed sometime back and it had a oil-like lubricant used to put the leg sleeve onto the body.
Even though it seems to be a pain in the abs, I doubt it will degrade the rubber.
But again - I'm jus' guessing here.
I'm just taking a guess at this but I can't see it getting ruined unless it magically breaks down on it's own but even that seems slim.

Well I and others speculated about the chemical breakdown of the materials used in the chest plate/silicone. Seems like that was a correct assumption. After all the oil has to come from someplace. As a physicist will tell u, nothing is created or destroyed, one material will become another material. Maybe this is why HT have been so quiet, they know whats going to happen.
in an effort to squeeze maximum flexibility out of the suit
