I wonder how they're going to fix the bicept leaking problem? I hope that'll be fixed as well.

They offered me a replacement, I have been waiting to see if they have actually fixed the problem before going to all the bother of sending back the DX body.

That's supposed to absorb the oil? I think that will only able to deflect it right? It would only go somewhere else I would think.

No, not to absorb it. The answer from HT seems to be that the problem comes from contact between the rubber of the shirt and the rubber of the pants, so this film is to black them from making contact and generating the substance.

Huh? Seriously? I just don't get the concept of 2 similar rubber materials making contact and creating an oil-like substance.

Doesn't make much sense to me either, but none of the statements from HT regarding this issue have.

Neither do Hot Toys apparently. A company that doesn't know how their own products works.

I thought when they said that they used the oil to lubricate the rubber so that the suit can be applied to the body easier was making more sense than this.

But nevertheless, I'll try to isolate the pants from touching the suit and see if it works.

The oil to put the suit on makes sense as you can feel it on the v1 TDK Batman, but if you feel the DX figure where this problem is occurring, it's dry so that can't be the source, and the problem is only happening at areas made with the denser rubber, the stomach and bicep plates, the rest of the suit hasn't shown signs of leaking for anyone.

it wont work...they dont have a clue whats going on

I'm confused and have a question. I have this guy on pre-order, so I haven't seen it in hand yet, so I'm wondering if you guys can enlighten me on something...

Is the "shirt" glued to the "pants" at the front (or somewhere else?) Because you guys are suggesting placing something in between the two, underneath the shirt, to prevent contact.

But at the same time, someone posted pics of some damage in the region where they'd be touching, ostensibly from glue (though some feared it was a chemical reaction related to the leaking, I think most of you concluded it was damage from the glue).

So are these guys glued together or not? If so, are you pulling apart the glue to place the makeup-pad/tissue/film in between the two? And if not, then why did that guy's figure feature "glue" damage?

Which makes me think Hot Toys is bluffing with this so called fix.

As you have read, they make it sound because it's glued thats the problem with contact. So put in a divider. I have a huge divider in the whole front up to the chest plate and it was still slowly seeping until I added the paint to it.

Will be interesting to see how it goes from a few days to a week with Eddie.

The impression I've gotten from the discussions is that the "contact" is creating a chemical reaction between the two kinds of rubber - glue or no glue. So placing a divider would stop that chemical reaction whether or not there's glue, though you would need to remove the glue in the parts where you're placing the divider, obviously.

Splitting them may work, everyone here's trying to stop it basically after it starts, this film HT put on Eddie's figure in theory will prevent it from ever starting. It seems weird that it wouldn't just dry up and stop once you break the reaction from happening but who knows what the reaction is and how it creates the residue, could be the rubber's permanently affected once it starts and you can't change its composition back to normal. We're as clueless about this as Hot Toys, yet they have the means to figure it out.

@haytil. Mine wasn't glued though and with a divider in place it was still oozing with just the one figure. #697

@MaulFan, which stinks because they were that friggin slow in responding to it. Even then they still never said anything about it. We only found out this through Eddie. Then using the excuse for the chinese new year.

Then there is the bicep problems. Another thing that varies.

I had to replace a body for one of my customers, it had horrendous QC problems.

The belly was glued by someone rushing to finish his or her shift - or by a 6yr old

so the result is that in a natural state its crooked to one side, I sort of ripped/unglued it and it is now back to normal BUT there is glue marks showing.

I opened a brand new DX Bat for a replacement body to my customer But I have now a DX Bat I cant sell.

HT aint replying to my emails, sent 3 emails already, I may call them or get my brother in law to go to office and crack some heads.

I'm not gonna keep the new replacement Batman. Will box it up and sell it. Can't deal with wiping oil everyday and having to worry when the oil will destroy the surface.

I've put a sheet of the film into my displayed Batman's belly (which is leaking like crazy). Let's see in 24hrs time if its stopped (I'm currently wiping it every day). Will keep you all posted.

Btw, both arm pads are now oozing oil too... sigh

It was the 17th Eddie had received arrival of that new body with the plastic divider.
