At one point in time though, people felt the same about ArmorAll and look what that does to stuff 10 years later.
As for silicone, I don't think that'd allow them to have the type of profit margin they're getting on Batman. It's not cheap.
Well, I assumed that these bodies WERE made of silicone until I learned of the deterioration they experience, considering how much these figures cost. It seems to me that silicone is the only material that can be used that will actually hold up over any considerable length of time, which is why companies like RealDoll use it for the skin of their dolls. I do not believe that any other material will be viable over the long term. Either pony up for the silicone or experience this rubber failure that these figures do, period. I don't know of any material other than silicone that could be used for a pose-able rubber body that could last more than a year or two, especially if posed regularly.
