At one point in time though, people felt the same about ArmorAll and look what that does to stuff 10 years later.

As for silicone, I don't think that'd allow them to have the type of profit margin they're getting on Batman. It's not cheap.

Well, I assumed that these bodies WERE made of silicone until I learned of the deterioration they experience, considering how much these figures cost. It seems to me that silicone is the only material that can be used that will actually hold up over any considerable length of time, which is why companies like RealDoll use it for the skin of their dolls. I do not believe that any other material will be viable over the long term. Either pony up for the silicone or experience this rubber failure that these figures do, period. I don't know of any material other than silicone that could be used for a pose-able rubber body that could last more than a year or two, especially if posed regularly.

I took TBP's advice of using the 303 aerospace on my Bruce Wayne/Batman Begins 2011 figure and the top layer on the suit just started coming off. Fortunately the layer underneath had the same color and a nice look to it. But nowhere near the new shiny look I wanted when I decided to use the protectant.

As I had said in a earlier thread, I wouldn't try the 303 on painted rubber. Why HT is painting these when the original issues looked terrific without any paint apps is beyond me. HT should be ashamed of themselves.

Are you talking to me? If so, I gently applied very little 303 aerospace on the suit and I noticed how the top layer came off like little circles everywhere. I noticed that the layer underneath looked almost the same so I went ahead and rubbed off the whole top layer so it wouldn't look weird. I haven't done the whole thing so I can post pics later if anyone is interested.

I specifically asked you if I could use it on my figure and you said yes. I don't blame you or anything, it was my responsibility. I like how it looks now. My point is that the top layer might start to come off on the batman keaton if people use the 303 aerospace on it.

yes I think is true,becuse we not must to use any chemical products on our figures...good to know I will never buy 303 aO anymore....

The problem with that is there are too many scared little girls who would rather see their toys turn to ash than use a proven agent developed for the marine and aerospace industries. Industries that use these agents for applications to prevent component failure, which if that were to occur, could result in loss of life, not just a widdle toy getting boogered up. This guy has been out of the box since 2006, refreshed with 303 twice a year:

That's fine and dandy and all that but even a scared little girl with her widdle toy could tell that the figure you lathered up isn't the same one with the leaking issues.

Besides, I can tell you first hand that the military has maintenance schedules which require the technicians to replace all the rubber components, etc. So I guess it just protects them before they're replaced with new ones?

I can't believe you guys are still complaining about this, whatever happened to enjoying your figures? This figure was a week ago (and for me still) one of, if not the best, batman figure ever made. Now all of a sudden when a few people get it in hand, it becomes terrible.
