Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Meh, stuff like just makes the figure seem less new. Nothing to be surprised by when you get the figure in hand.

Don't need surprises since I will be viewing and watching OMG picts and other picts, Youtube reviews ..etc..etc... Before the figure even arrives in my hands!

Funny thing is I will spend maybe 2 hours looking at a new figure before I put in my display never to touch it again!!

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Why can't they at least get the physique right. He wasn't massive in T2. If they at least did his body justice I may have bought this.
And for christ sakes let someone else take a crack at Arnie beside Yulli!

This does have a new body according to the specs with more articulation so with out actually seeing it might actually be better, however I really liked the orginal body myself. The head sculpt is a disapointment on this one I must say, it really is a step backwards from mms117 imo. Had they nailed it my excitment for this figure would be high but as it stands my excitment has died down like others have stated:(

The whole proportions thing didn't used to bother me but ever since I did that photo series with my Pescadero diorama it really does. The figure was so visibly off from what I was looking at of the real Arnie in the film I couldn't believe it.

The next step that these figures can go in to improve (because I know for many, including me, it was a wonder how they could improve them at all in some cases) is to truly try to match the exact body shapes of characters.
With MMS117 I was just thrilled that it was a big body unlike the old Sideshow 1/6th figure which somehow thought it could get away with putting an Arnold Schwarzennegger head on a standard skinny body, dressing it in 'leather' and calling it a Terminator. The result was ridiculous and it was a serious fail as far as I was and am concerned.

A few years have passed now though and big was a little too big and things like the shape of the shoulders was completely wrong. So yeah I see this as an area to improve. I suspect DX10 has exactly the same problems. The only thing different I notice is that the jacket closes tighter around the chest, collar still looks wierd though.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

He really wasn't as huge as people think. I would have been pretty stoked about a new body. That way the figure wouldn't be a complete loss. Well, there are a few things I like, small things. I like the bandolier, the jacket, gloves and bag. If we got a new body I may have purchased just to get all those things. We really, really need a good early 90's Arnie body.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Yeah I mean he's only 6'1 at most and from what I gather he was just kind of maintaining himself around T2 time moreso than actively bodybuilding. Still a very enviable physique of course but he wasn't as giant as the HT figure portrays.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

maybe at the time the proto was made, they were still using the original body?? grasping at straws I know but could possibly be something that was still being developed.

Yup. Totally right. Honestly in some shots you wouldn't even know he was built. Is there any 1/6 body that is close to his frame around the T2 era? I think I asked before...

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't think so, not a body that looks like and is the size of his T2 frame when nude certainly. With clothes on the Wolverine body might have been passable but unfortunately the MMS117 clothes are just too big, they don't sit right on a smaller body.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

While Arnold wasn't that big in T2, the body used is perfect for T1 and since they are the same model of T-800, I like that they match.

Look at the Bane figure, people are asking for a bigger body even though Hardy is not a big guy. :lol

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Agreed with that^. I don't see a problem with the existing body for T1, especially because of that baggy punk jacket.

I'd still rather have a more precise-to-the-movie match for T2 though. The rationale that they're both supposed to be the same model of T-800 makes sense for the T-verse but it doesn't really work for me just looking at the figures.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Speaking about all these arnie bodys, why has'nt HT's released a truetype yet??? they made with this new one 4 differant bodys for arnie

1: dutch

2: t2 (mms117)

3: t1

4: t2 (dx10)

I realize they made the hamburger face arnie but that was not a new body.

Kaustic Plastic has really cleaned up with there version and Hot Toys have missed the boat on a perfect opt. I would still buy hot toys as would many others so why not do it already:thwak

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Maybe because they no longer care about custom figures? The prices of KP's bodies and of the various knock offs of TTs out there are so competitive that HT probably doesn't see a point in delving into that market. Making $150+ per Iron Man or Batman makes a paltry $20-30 per body seem like a waste of time, I think. And its not like there's a shortage in demand for their present lineup of figures. As some others have said on this forum, IM and Bats are like printing money.

Truetypes are like printing money too, and even there basic truetypes retail at about 45 bucks so they could easily sell there arnie body for 55 bucks, the molds are all in place and all they have to do is make them, no new clothes or accessoires to mold. The demand is there to as KP sold out there bodys within days of release, and this bodys are great for so many customs from superhero's and beyond. The only question would be what head they would put on it:panic:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

This is the only figure I am :impatient: for in Hot Toys current line-up.
The sad thing is, I will have nothing to :impatient: for after this figure is in hand.

Hurry up with the Penguin reveal so I can do more.....:impatient:

could potentially come with no head. didn't HT release the bruce lee body as a TT but just over in Asia? I remember it not coming with a head.

I really would prefer that it came with a head, It would be great if it came with an arnie head with the hair parted on the side that he had in alot of movies like in total recall for example, or it could be someone differant like a stone cold steve austin, or brock leasner type head, I'm likely dreaming but hey give us something we could use.
