I think it's fair to say this is the best Arnie likeness to date. I still believe PERS weakened this one though.

For Hot Toys or do you think it's even better than the first Enterbay T-800?

After having the opportunity to see both in hand (own both) I can honestly say the HT's DX10 is the better likeness and paint job too. So yeah, better than EB's imo.

It must be a good sculpt in hand then! I must admit i'm loving it the more I see it.

Thanks, while I wait for the EB BD figure to be revealed, I'm contemplating my T2 future, and some of the pics around here have had me thinking, don't get any EB, and for the price of one EB, get DX10 and DX13, if I can get anything, and then I'd have two figures, but the first EB T-800 was just so impressive to me, I felt like I was looking at Arnold right off the screen, but there haven't been any photos here giving me that vibe, Sined's photos of EB put me over the top. I greatly value your opinion on this, and I really think now, unless the EB BD figure really wows me somehow, I'll probably try to round up funds to get the two HT DX figures instead.

It also has a lot to do with the simple expression too. Whereas EB's does look stoned or sick. It's a phenomenal piece I must say.

Well thank you, I appreciate that. Will I sell my EB? Hell no. With glasses on it does still look like a mini Arnold. The EB body bugs me more than anything else. Damn hard to pose and sorta clunky too. See, the only reason i'm saying all this now, is because I have the HT's version now. Before that my EB was king. The DX10's body is also damn impressive. Posing is a ton of fun too. Oh and the jacket (I know it's one of your concerns) can be futzed to look a lot better too. Especially around the collar.

I have no doubt (minus the body's function) EB's BD version will knock our socks off. It seems EB's already improved their eye paint work too. We'll see.

To me both enterbay and the dx are great arnold sculpts both with there plus's and minus's. enterbay has puffy hair and sleepy eyes where the dx has the seam for the pers. ether one looks great and really depends on what scale you prefer, or if your not a scale queen both are a win, but if price is a concern then 1:6 will always win even at todays out of control prices.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Honestly, unless you really look for it, the seam is very well hidden imo. From a side view it's more noticeable.

And to me, that's a detail that will hurt photography, but not owning a piece. I thought the Ledger Joker PERS seam was horrid, so obvious, and it forced me to compensate in my photos, but, it's such a small area that you'll never see on a shelf, especially at 1/6, but even at 1/4 it wouldn't b that big of a deal. For photos, I'm picky some times about fine details if it'll hurt the experience for me, but when I contemplate shelf appearance, I'm looking for the overall look, that's why I loved the EB so much, there figures looks so much like the real person it's eerie, but if this DX10 can come very close to giving that same sense, then the decision becomes more about best overall use of my money and that looks more like Hot Toys.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I'm still on the fence with this one, guys! I love the sculpt, but it's the eyes. The PERS just doesn't seem right to me from the pictures I've seen. Is it honestly worth upgrading from the MMS? The cheapest I've seen it is £175.

Whats wrong with the eyes, have you looked at the photos in this thread, its only worth up-grading it you want a better likeness, more accessoires, more weapons, better real leather outfit, better body, more articulation, lightup stand and a beautiful box, other than that no:wink1:

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I don't even own DX10 and I'd say it's worth the upgrade, and like many DX of previously release figures, it's really what should have been released in the first place. Yes, it's been a year or two in between, Yulli's grown as a sculptor, but even the T1 T-800 was less "old" looking than the original T2 sculpt. When MMS117 came out, we all thought it was great because it blew away anything before it, there was no better to measure it too, better was just an idea. Yulli's own work on T1 and EB's T-800 showed that better was doable and not just an idea I don't see any reason that the portrait couldn't have been up to this level back in 2010, I really don't, other than HT finds a certain point acceptable and until someone whoops their ass and stirs trash talk about them, or enough fans complain, they don't try to raise the bar anymore. Was it really necessary to make 2 Batman and Joker figures before finally getting proportions and details right, nope, but their rush to hit the market means putting things out sooner than they should be, and greed for more money from future releases doesn't hurt either. Yes some of that money goes to balance out fresh innovations, but still.

So with DX10, you'll get a much better portrait, and a cool feature in the PERS, you get a nicer made outfit, more accessories, and a more proper sized body.

The only thing I see about DX10 that would be good to carry over from MMS117 would be the rose box and additional skin hands, as I really liked some of the poses on them and DX10 doesn't have all of them.

While its a pity you can't get them all, 2 figures of one scale sounds better than 1 figure of 1 scale.

-EB's BD head does look more accurate than HT at the moment but the idea of having the clean and BD T-800 from T2, with now consistent Arnie likeness across them, sounds a little better to me.

-The HT figures provide a huge amount of display options for display and for your photographs. That single Enterbay BD figure will almost certainly be more limited in that regard.

However, this is easier said when we have yet to see EB's complete figure.

That's just it, right now, based on the way EB's 1/4 scale figures have been, I'm leaning more towards trying to get 2 HT figures with lots of options, especially if the "real Arnie" factor is stronger now with HT. When it was MMS117 vs EB, it was a no brainer choice if you wanted the most Arnie looking figure. Not the case now. That said though, BD T-800 has been a long sought after figure, and I could be happy with a lone figure, so there's still room for EB to just wow me so much and really speak to my dream of such a figure coming true that I go that route.

It's rare to have such a tough choice like this, usually it's a clear path but we've got some great options for T2 right now.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

In a way I wish I'd never embarked on 1:4 scale. But I did, I broke down that barrier and now Termy figures in that scale feel as essential to me as the ones smaller. :banghead

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Fortunately for me, I don't collect for a scale or anything, I have what I look for in pieces and it's just about which ones deliver what I'm after.

With Terminator 2, it's about satisfying all the years as kid having only the likes of this for T2 figures,

TerminatorKennerFig1a.jpg

and wanting this the whole time.

terminator-2-1991-arnold-schwarzenegger-24246.jpg

NECA got the ball rolling, and I'm glad for that, HT took it further, but then EB took it about as far as it could go, and now HT's finally catching up to that level and refining some things.

With any older property, I wanted figures that looked just like the characters on screen, even as a kid, and now we're getting them.

So in the end, it will come down to how I feel about HT and EB, which path will ultimately leave me feeling that after all the years of wanting BD T-800 just like in the movie, which will leave me most satisfied.

I am not agree with this last one:dunno I've sold the dx suit just for this reason...

Same. We made do with the $h!t they gave us but given the choice of that crap or something that looked like it was actually based on the film child-me would have picked the latter any day of the week. Obviously it still would have looked only as good as toys of that time period and that price-point were capable of - but it still would have been preferable.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

As I kid, I was annoyed with purple shirt, interchangeable arm Arnie, but I was happy as could be to get it too. I can't remember what I did with all my old T2 figures. I suppose they went in the trash.
