Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I am not agree with this last one:dunno I've sold the dx suit just for this reason...

Funny, I was thinking that the old MMS clothing looked better from the pics I've seen. I won't have my DX until tuesday so I'll make my decision then as to what outfit to keep. I'm guessing that the MMS clothing fits the same on the new body?

Ok so I love taking pics of this guy so I broke out the coo model minigun to see how it would look.

Same. We made do with the $h!t they gave us but given the choice of that crap or something that looked like it was actually based on the film child-me would have picked the latter any day of the week. Obviously it still would have looked only as good as toys of that time period and that price-point were capable of - but it still would have been preferable.

In the end though, it's about the idea, not the execution. The idea we were after was looking like the movie, and that idea is applied to the quality available to us at the time. Had Kenner made figures true to film outfits, like John Connor, sure they'd still look like cheap toys but they'd fullfil the idea we were after and we'd be happy because we didn't know of any better possible.

That's why NECA's T2 takes heat, had they come out back when the McFarlane figures came out, they'd have been praised beyond what praise they get now because they would have been very true to the movie and done so in the best way possible for the time, but NECA came along during the prime of Hot Toys, people know better is possible and NECA didn't cut it. And we all thought MMS117 was the best until EB showed us you could do better, and HT has responded well and now we have 2 companies putting out amazing quality figures that are about as close to exactly duplicating the screen characters as you'll ever get and still cost $200-$400.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Whats wrong with the eyes, have you looked at the photos in this thread, its only worth up-grading it you want a better likeness, more accessoires, more weapons, better real leather outfit, better body, more articulation, lightup stand and a beautiful box, other than that no:wink1:

Yeah of course I've looked at all the photos, but the eyes do genuinely spoil it for me. Sorry if I'm offending anyone here, but I don't think PERS always works. It's a cool idea on paper, but I dunno...it just doesn't seem right on this particular figure. Maybe I just haven't seen the eyes in the 'right' position yet. Don't get me wrong, it's only a minor gripe for me as I'd display him with shades on anyway.

I'm not offended and sorry if I came off abrupt, not sure what you see wrong with the eyes though, I will admit there have been some wonky looking pics(omgs) but in most inhand pics there look fine, and in hand I think they look great but thats just my opinion.

No good reason really, I left the hot toys version in the box and did'nt want to dig it out, lazy I guess:lol But the materials used on the coo model kit is better, real metal an I like those little metal rings hanging off it, kinda looks more autentic. I'm sure the ht version is great but I really did'nt look at it for more then 10 seconds during the unboxing cause I was like:blissy

The coo model minigun looks great, I think I like the ammo feed belt more than the HT one.

Oh no, I didn't think you were being abrupt at all! :) I can't really put my finger on what exactly it is I don't like. I do need to see it in-hand before I can make any form of real judgment. I think I've just seen more 'off' pics than I have 'on'. That pic you supplied looks awesome though :) Good job.

Part of me wants to get this set now. :lol

I may down the track.. not in the short term though, anyway.

Still pretty chuffed to own the MMS Arnold. :duff :wink1: :lol

I know this is a very different scale and I'm not trying to start flaming here.
If we compare DX10's headsculpt with EB's T-800 (not the BD), which do you guys think is better?

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I think the top half of the 1/4 EB figure's head is too big / round or something.

It doesn't reflect Arnold's cranial proportions as well as it could. Nice detail though..

The DX10 looks SPOT ON in some pics - & at a smaller scale.

Go figure. :huh

I'm gonna be pleased to own both :) Both are great. The EB was the best Arnie ever until this, which may be slightly better, just due to the eyes without the glasses on.

yes the coomodel is real metal and better material
but the coomodel is too weathered too...
so maybe is better the Ht for the posing
for the wapon hot toys has done a quite good job (ok all plastic)
but pretty movie accurate
