Don't know why people always refer back to pictures to back up complaints etc, pictures can be deceiving depending on the lighting etc, surely at this point the best way of telling what the figure is going to be like is the video online of Toy Hunters shop window and in that video this figure looks great :dunno

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I'm very interested to find out of thats the case, I'm not sure at present. This head would technically have to be vertically longer overall than the MMS117. I didn't think it was but now that you mention it the sunglasses look kinda smaller on this head. If the face is longer that could be why.

Indeed. Plus they resculpted the T1 sculpt, which did look a little bit longer / narrower in terms of dimensions when compared to the T2. I hated how it looked in the promo pics, but really in the ToyHunters display vids and pics, plus the flash ridden new pics we've gotten, I'm pretty certain that they improved the sculpt for the better.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

I think in some ways the shape of the face does look better (like his mouth and chin), but if you cover up that part of his face and his spiky hair with your hands it is not obvious this is supposed to be Arnold IMO. Both sculpts have their flaws, bother are a'aight, though you would hope that after a couple of years HT would have been able to get a truly good Arnold likeness out of this one. I think the biggest issue could be the eyes, and it could well be the PERS.

True. I do also find that his chin could stand to be a little more pronounced but that may be due to his expression. Both sculpts have their flaws, it's just that this one has less I guess.

I do have to say though, those eyebrows should be more square. Right now they're pointing downward quite a lot, and I don't remember Arnie doing that in T2. T1 yes, just not T2, and that might be why it doesn't seem to please too many people. I'd argue that this sculpt is improved from the MMS, though.

i agree, i think the pers are the problem, throwing the likeness off a bit.
pers just don't work with some figures.

That neck looks to be a problem aswell, its just too much of a tree trunk even for Arnie, adding to the pinhead effect.

I honestly think that HT should start doing video previews to go along with the Specs and pics. It would give people a better idea of how the product will actually look, not how a picture of the product will look(if that makes any sense).

:goodpost: that makes perfect sence to me, that would be a great way for hot toys to spearhead a new way to preview there figures, and would be the first of its kind I think. Pictures don't always show a good sence of depth that video does.

I'm sure the other ones were the same it just seems more noticeable here for some reason.

So, October 2012 :impatient: pffft!
When do you think we can see some pics of the final product?

Yeah, I've always found, upon receiving my figures, that the video reviews that I come across are much more representative of what I'm holding in my hand than the pictures that I see of the same thing.

I'm kind of surprised there haven't been any PS jobs of his neck. I guess there are no Superman fans who also happen to like the Terminator.:dunno

The neck does look pretty bad now that you mention it. But, thinking back, I'm really thankful to those OCD Superman fans who were complaining to no end. As a result, Hot Toys released the most accurate rendition of Christopher Reeve in a 1/6 scale figure.

Yeah, me too. Just my attempt at bringing a little bit of humor to the situation.

Yeah I agree from the angles where the neck sticks out behind the sculpt it just really looks off. It also seems to be a different skintone altogether.

Re: Hot Toys - DX10 - Terminator 2 - DX T-800 Cyberdyne - Official Specs & Pics

Best way to not worry about the problems/inaccuracies is to not care or buy anymore :lol

Yeah, but the money in my wallet cares :lol. I dunno, maybe we're just expecting too much from Hot Toys?

On the sculpt maybe. After all different people have different ideas about what looks like the man himself.

But things like the Rhinoceros neck or the currently very visible PERS access hatch, grenades being too small - I'm not so sure that those things are subjective - only 'bothered' and 'not quite so bothered'
