Nice pic's, especially since I have the KotD statue so that gives me a very good idea as to the final size of the statue and possible display options :D

How in the ^^^^ do you already have one, when I got the "arriving in our warehouse within 15 days" notice in the mail 5 days ago?

God I love being in the "Outer Circle"........

Especially since ive been waiting FOREVER for my Aragorn and Ringrwraith to ship... makes me feel SO good to know that my money isnt as green as other peoples.

Man I love being Canadian...

Great piece and some great pictures dvdmalice thanks, i paid through flexpay and have got my notice so i cant wait to see it in person, just dont know where i,m going to display it yet!!.:confused::confused:

I had not received any kind of notice either, so I called CS and they explained that SS had received a small quantity of these. Those are going to Flexpay customers because they are already holding money from those people. The balance of them are scheduled to ship around the 26th.

All of you who have received notices - does that sound right to you? Are you all Flexpayers?

I'm not a flex-payer and I got my 15-day notice about 3 days ago. Hope that helps.

Awesome! I can't wait. I love the Dios - thanks again Ringer on Helm's Deep (now all I need is a certain little Dio to complete em)!

Interesting that its now called FELL BEAST VS GWAIHIR and not just "Eagle". So thats not just any Eagle ya got there, its the Lord of Eagles!

I was very lucky to score this piece. The photos have proven to be very promising. This does indeed justify the use of the dancing banana. :banana

I don't have mine yet, but judging from the photos, I'm pretty disappointed with the paint work. I especially don't like the way they did the vein effect under the fell beast's wings. Looks exactly like what they did, which was to just randomly draw some squiggly lines. They didn't take the time to paint the bridle pieces on the head of the FB. Also, the eagle wings paint job looks very sub-standard, especially compared with sideshow's photos. Looks like the paint shop didn't even try. I've bought many many pieces direct from SS and have never returned one. If this is an indicator of the paintwork, this may be the first. I'll wait and see. It's very depressing because I had such high hopes for this one.

the only thing that i was not to happy with was the paint job they did around the fellbeasts eyes. in the sideshow pix you could clearly see the black eye.

You can never pass judgment based on internet photos. If you know anything about photography, lighting, composition and post-processing of digital images, you'll know that the amateur photos do not hold a candle to the professional photos from Sideshow's web site. Not dissing the photographer who took these images, but a lot more goes into capturing true colors and details besides pointing a camera at something and releasing the shutter.

The SSW base is gone!!! :google :sick :monkey2

Not really a big deal for me. So it won't be a negative for this guy.

Well, honestly there are plenty here who take fairly decent photos. Some of them are better than whats on SS site for certain pieces.

Yes, and I might know at least one or two of the guys you're referring to. I've seen collectors take some great shots of their pieces, but they take their photography very seriously and so the results speak for themselves. The shots posted here aren't bad at all, but they're better suited for providing a good reference for size/scale IMHO.

From the time I saved the image and imported into Adobe Lightroom, I spent less than 5 minutes post-editing this image starting with correcting the white balance and adding a bit of contrast (a smidge of vignetting for a subtle dramatic effect as well). The end result is quite different from original shot...

Computer Fly, no offense, but you got one with a crappy paint job. The FB head/face is horribly painted, like the painter didn't even care. But I think you knew that already. See if SS will give you a new dio?

Those folks do. Thats why when I take shots I try to be serious about taking nice shots. I want to give people a good idea of what they will be getting.
