This is why I don't ship outside of the US anymore. Though people in the US can be just as bad, the delivery confirmation will usually cancel out the claim if it happens. For some reason, international delivery confirmation doesn't work the same way (unless something has changed recently).

It sucks because when I post an auction (which isn't often) I always have to deal with a ton of "Can you ship this to my country?" questions even though the auction specifically says "no". I even have people outside the US bid even though the auction specifically says "Ships to US only". :banghead

Yea I state the same thing on all my auctions... not gonna risk it and this week I just had someone from France ask me if I would ship there.... NOPE!!!

You can block international bidders when you set up the listing. You can't trust stupid buyers to be able to read what you wrote.

Good to know Riz! :rock

Also this week I get on eBay and sell something for the very first time in a few months and my BIN auction sells immediately but f'n paypal holds the funds until the person receives the items or they leave feedback. I've only had this happen once in the past with another BIN auction and it happens the first thing I sell this week. I have a flawless record WTF and why do I have to put up with this crap.

So tracking is attached and my money waits in the pending until it can be confirmed delivered.

Seems like the douche is not responding to me now. I sent him a message last night before going to bed and sent him another invoice a couple hours ago with no reply yet.

That dude is a loser. If I don't like the shipping cost on something I don't bid. Report him to eBay (they SHOULD be able to tell that shipping wasn't outrageous) and then post his ID here so we can all block this idiot.

Kill.

Sad thing is that he has 100% feedback and good comments left, but for some reason he's assuming he's in charge of ebay.

l hate lots of sellers on ebay who do this.they list an item that is small and worth lets say $50 and they sell it for buy it now lets say $15 and then they charge like $40 shipping when the real shipping is maby $10 then they pocket the rest making up for selling an expensive item for cheap.

The problem is people dont like to read. You can have something in 30 font Bold and they will still not read it.

Sorry to hear this happened to you.

I see this happen alot. The seller will list the same item twice. One auction with regular shipping price and the otherwith a low buy it now but high shipping fee.

Yeah I'll have to back this up, Ebay buyers are getting worse and worse as they stop realizing that Ebay is an auction house and you have to deal with individual sellers, not Walmart or Amazon.

I just sold one of those Pandora's box collectibles from the God of War 3 Ultimate set. Pretty decent sized box, right? It's like half the size of a Bowen statue box. I specifically stated $10 within Canada/the US. Some guy from Australia buys it and well before he pays, I email him to say I'll get you a shipping quote for Australia.

Instead of replying, he pays the initial price about an hour later. Then he immediately files a Paypal "item not received" complaint saying he wants me to ship the item immediately and he refuses to pay any extra for shipping to Australia. Yeah, let me take a significant loss on shipping and send you an item when you've got a complaint open on me, that's a great way to lose my money.

That kind of thing is getting way more common. I'm really looking forward to the day I can ditch that garbage website.

It's d**kheads like this that make it harder for me here in OZ to get stuff.
95% of my stuff i buy comes for the US,UK or Asia and i always ask what shipping costs are and if it is to much i just don't bid simple.

Exactly. And I put that in the description. My second response to the buyer was if they read the description completely....I even made it pretty simple by putting the shipping and insurance information in CAPS (like so)

You two are part of the problem...:lecture

You end up paying the same price either way, but complain how it's divied up...:duh

You tell me, what's the better deal?

1) P2 Elder MIB for $300 shipped

2) P2 Elder MIB for $100 with $200 shipping cost

????

#1 is a better deal for Ebay.
#2 is a better deal for the Seller, although against Ebay's rules.

Are you serious? I've never heard of something like this. Maybe he already contacted Paypal about not receiving it? :dunno

standard practice, and happens randomly if you have less than 100 feedback in a certain time period. ive had it happen twice out of 30 or more transactions on my wife's account. no big deal.

FYI, the money is already in 'your' paypal account, paypal is just holding it until the item is received via tracking number, 21 days and no claims are filed, or positive feedback is left. it's not like the guy hasnt paid, the money is deducted from his end already.

What Stone Cold says is true. Personally, I don't have a major issue with it, because buyers nowadays should have enough sense to factor shipping into their total cost equation, and if they don't, then that's their bad. But where this will hurt sellers is the fact that it is against eBay rules, meaning they can affect your seller account status. Also, buyers leave feedback regarding "reasonableness" of shipping cost. When I sell, my shipping costs are very close to actual shipping costs (maybe $1.50 more or so to cover a small bit of fees). If someone is gouging me on the cost, as a buyer, I'm honest in my feedback.

Not sure how guys who have issue with that policy are "part of the problem," though. It could be conceived not only as an attempt to cheat eBay out of money, but to scam buyers who don't look at shipping costs. Pretty shady on those levels. Just because the seller doesn't want to eat fees doesn't mean he or she has the right to deceive and defy the rules. They could sell on forums like this if that is such a concern

honestly, what is your problem? Youre just mad that you dont get something for a steal?

What do you care if the seller is selling you something for $300 with free shipping or another person selling the same thing for $100 + $200 shipping?

Either way you're getting the same thing for the SAME price. get off your high and mighty horse.

please post your ebay id so i can block you.
