While I prefer this wall mount to King Art's one, save the led's, it is just passable at best. I would have preferred a concealed mount or one similar to that of their old "Master Replicas" comic book shield version. The Plexiglas "A"'s and Marvel logo's are cheesefest and should have been blank or hinged metal clasps.

Additionally this shield was expensive enough that, at a minimum, the bracket should have been convertible to a floor stand or engineered that the shield can be easily removed and replaced from the wall.

Agreed, don't like the mounting logo's at all and makes the shield look like a toy.

Bransen, where are you getting BBTS / April from?

If anyone missed out, I have a factory sealed, never opened , BRAND NEW - $799 + UPS shipping (domestic only).
PM me, serious buyers only, price is firm.

Tried doing that panel lining on the star using a gunpla marker. :lol Here it is with Mjolnir.
I agree with the comments that this does look superb from six feet away. Paint job is noticeably sloppy upclose.
(Perhaps the original prop was like this as well only that it wasn't noticeable on film.)

what is it about this that makes people say the paint is sloppy up close? I haven't seen any sloppy paint jobs on this......

It's that the paint is applied so thick, that up close, it doesn't look like smooth layer of paint. It's definitely a piece where I have to take a step back, literally, to admire it's beauty.

damn, shouldn't be like that for the money, especially considering how awesome the Thor hammer is. I think I've read enough about this shield, If someone wants my bbts order, let me know right now, and I'll tell you when I cancel it.

You guys are making it a tough call on this one. I hate to drop 600 bucks on a non-perfect item cause well....its 600 bucks! But it always looks so awesome from a distance and the colors and non-shine look great to me.

no takers.......for those it concerns......cancelled!

LOL, there were complaints on the Thor Hammer too when it first came out, BUT many months later......" I want one!"
Remember its a PROP REPLICA of that used in the film. You think film used props are perfect? :)

I got my hammer when it first came out and I don't remember any complaints . At least the hammer can pass as something that could actually exist. i don't care anymore that this shield is faithful to the stunt . I want the metal hero version. Someone will do it besides KA eventually. The wall display on this is tacky at best as well.

I'm starting to waver on this one. I know I could unload it and not really lose any money if I wasn't 100% satisfied with it but not sure I want to deal with that hassle. After seeing some pictures of the shield on the wall, I really just hate that mounting option.

This one seems to be losing steam with collectors.

I really want a metal one as well. The stunt version isn't as desirable as a hero metal version IMO.

I still haven't installed the wall mount yet. Still debating how to display it. Mine is still in the protective bag ready for transport to/from the office. The paint job on my shield looks decent. I wouldn't say it's sloppy. It's painted in a circular motion to mimic spun aluminum or better yet "spun vibranium". While I missed out on the limited run of the CF shield since I wasn't even on these forums then, I still would like to get a metallic shield. I wasn't getting any replies on the custom ones on RPF forum. So the only other place to purchase a metallic one would be the King Arts version. Luckily I got on the BBTS pre-order list before they stopped taking orders. I am still looking forward to getting both versions as a comparison and I will likely keep both shields. I just hope the King Arts paint colour is fairly screen accurate and doesn't disappoint. Even looking at pics of all different lighting and angles, it is hard to tell the color accuracy especially when glare is present.

Is the Lager version supposed to be metal as well? I just remember it being almost twice the KA version in price so I went the cheaper route.

I'm starting to get worried too. For something that's $500+, I get concerned when I hear the paint job is "decent" or anything that's not "perfect" or "spectacular" or super positive. I already can't wall mount it because I don't like drilling holes in the wall, plus I live in a rental, though the bag it comes with is a really nice touch to bring it to conventions for signing while remaining protected.
