That shield needs to be admired. Get it off the floor and put it somewhere it can be viewed.

Lol, I hear ya! I feel the same. Unfortunately, I have toooooo much crap organized in an OCD fashion, and it's the only spot I have for it now... Though when the mk43 1:1 bust comes out, I have to rethink my Avengers armory display.

In my Besta shelves. The shield obviously doesn't fit outright, but its a corner box so it displays okay at an angle.

I just got Mjolnir yesterday and the build quality overall feel on it, far surpasses the shield. That's not a knock on the shield more so than it is the highest compliment I can give Mjolnir.

I agree!! I actually made my decision to purchase the EFX shield because of how well their Mjolnir turned out. I understand now and came to terms that the EFX CA shield is the "stunt prop" replica, but what if that was the route they went with their Mjolnir hammer as well? Fortunately for us, that isn't the route they went. It almost feels as if EFX didn't plan these products to be displayed together because their "stunt" shield does not display well with their "hero" hammer, IMHO. I have them next to each other and the finish quality between both products is astoundingly contrast.

The shield IS the "hero" or rather only look the piece had on film after the First Avenger and the Germany scene in Act 1. I posted a rant a page or two ago

I officially cancelled my efx shield last night and it was scooped right up before I could post here.
The efx shield it just ok. For $600.00, I need more of a "wow" factor, lol.

Going to try my luck with King Arts and see what I get... It is a gamble, but I really want a more "metal" feel to my shield,
so hopefully King Arts delivers that. I would actually go with the Lager Toys one, but cannot figure out where to purchase it.

Yea metal is heavy... No way I would pull off Major Victory for Halloween with have to carry a heavy metal shield :lol

Yeah, I don't know how cosplayers carry around those aluminum shields. I've been both Cap and Winter Soldier for Halloween and I've had to use the plastic disguise shield both times because there was no way I was carrying that thing around.

Really aluminum?? I always thought they did like, awesome paper mâché or something :lol

Gotta work out man :lol I cosplayed with my aluminum shield at last year's WonderCon for a full day and didn't think the weight was an issue at all. I also rigged mine so I can carry it on my back for a bit, but I only did that to free up both hands. All the Cap cosplayers I've seen use plastic shields though.

Didn't think I would ever here anyone tell me to work out on here :lol :lol :lol I'm 6' 225lbs.

I just thought just carrying something like that for an X amount of time would just get tiring.

What is the weight of efx vs KA shields anyway?

Don't know exact numbers but I've heard the KA is a much more of a solid piece, and likely heavier.

KA is also $200 more, and I don't see $200 difference in quality when I view both these products but that's just my opinion. :dunno

would you pay $800 for a Fields shield? The Lager one is extremely close to those from what I've seen. I don't see $200 better with the KA version, but the Lager has me thinking. It also has me thinking there will still be future shields to be made for sure, so market saturation could bring the price down on some of these when said and done.

No I would not, but that has nothing to do with the Fields product itself as they are beautifully crafted. I just cannot justify to myself dropping $800+ on a shield.

If going for one of the aluminum shields from overseas the Lager is by far more pleasing to the eye than the King Arts one IMHO. Between the two the only thing the king arts has going for it is that I believe they are licensed. Granted that is based on the limited pictures we have seen to date.

Totally. These are only the first of what I predict will be many shields to come in the future. I don't know where Lager gets off charging what they do for an unlicensed knockoff. At least with the EFx you know you're paying for the pedigree of the shield and the endorsement of Marvel Studios.

That and you're basically getting a shield that they would use on set for stunts...or is it just a replica of the stunt shield for display only?

That is true to a large extent; EFX produced these in concert with the guys who made the ones seen onscreen using their process and masters. Having said that there is no "stunt shield" per se. This version of the shield replaced the aluminum ones during the production of the Avengers. The fibreglass ones were indeed initially conceived when making "stunt" shields but due to their versatility they were adopted as the defacto shield. The look of the EFX style fiberglass shield is the ONLY look seen in Acts 2 & 3 of the Avengers, all of the Winter Solider and seemingly Age of Ultron from the few screens I have seen.
