Darth coys, I love that aluminum stand for Vader. Matches up great. I'll definitely be on the lookout for something similar.

Thanks , it's the usual toilet roll holder quite a big one at that. From a store called Dunelm a furnishings store in the U.K.

This is still one of the top items in my collection. LOVE this piece. Top marks to eFX for it.

Now if only they could get other products released on a schedule that didn't take years.

Anyone selling one of these or know of a sale on one? I really want an ESB Vader but this looks pretty cool. A little concerned about the rippled domes I keep seeing though.

I got mine like 2 weeks ago from Brian's Toys eBay store for $265.00 but I noticed that there are almost if none at all below MSRP of $300.00 on eBay now. Glad I got it in time

Following Darth foy's lead, I picked up a paper towel holder at "Bed, Bath & Beyond" for Vader's stand. I really like the brushed aluminum base which I think works great with the black of the helmet and play off of the metal tusks.

I'm thinking of taping a swatch of black fabric behind the grills to cover the interior of the helmet.

Congrats. See if you can lower it a bit so that there isn't too much pole.
I've got mine in a black case so the see-through grill isn't an issue, but depending on where you're putting your Vader lid, the fabric is a great idea.

Thanks!

Yep, I noticed that it was sitting a bit too high as well. It's just that I haven't dug into the Styrofoam ball as deep as I should. I'll work on dropping it a couple of inches, at the least.

very nice! how tall is the pole on that stand?

It's roughly 14 to 14 1/2 inches tall.

When I initially placed the helmet on the paper towel holder, the bottom of the helmet's "neck" piece at the front would touch the base.

I went to Michaels and picked up two of the 5" round Styrofoam spheres (I need one for my Stormtrooper helmet as well...) and used a pocket knife to cut out a rectangular hole in it to wedge to the top of the stand. I only dug into it about an inch or so. So I know I can cut deeper and not risk it falling apart.

Here's what it looks like now but will be inserted further in to lower the helmet on the stand:

That's looks great very similar to what I got, I agree the silver finish looks good with the black. I tested the stormtrooper lid on it as well they both look good.
I thought about some fabric or dark material for the grill let me know what you come up with? :)

I thought about the Styrofoam ball and also a polystyrene head which already has a hole in the neck.
Are you going to display with a plaque at the bottom as I think that will cover some of the lower part of the stand?

Good idea, Clutch.

Darth coys, I'm definitely going to have a plaque made for it. That will cover up about 2 inches of the lower part of the pole but I still need to lower the helmet some as well. Perhaps just another inch and it should be good to go.

Well...I did a stupid thing. I decided I would like to build my grail, and put together a Darth Vader 1:1 scale. EFX has such a great looking piece for that sort of thing, I've seen it on a Vader mannequin, and I already have the Legend. So, I bought one from them and wouldn't you know it. Just like last time with the Legend, shipping scuffs on the dome.

Now, if this were Sideshow or any other company I'd not fret it much and just contact them for return or replacement. But, this is EFX. I may have just bought myself a scuffed up Vader helmet. I really hope their customer service responds, but given their track record I may end up having to ebay it for a big loss (nobody's going to want a scuffed up helmet). They don't list their phone number on their site anymore, so email looks like the only way.

I think these guys like to make things, and do the selling part to fund their projects. I don't think they really want to do that part though. I'd say then need to get their act together, but after this long if they haven't, they probably aren't going to.

Anovos isn't any better.

I contacted them via their live chat, so I had an actual employee at the other end communicating with me.
I sent them 2-3 pics of the scuffs and swirl marks all over the dome of the Tie pilot helmet they sent me. The employee acknowledged that he received those pics.

I haven't heard from them since.

You can polish that out and Vader's helmet in ANH wasn't pristine to begin with. Not defending EFX but it isn't a total loss.
