I agree, lets talk
I agree, lets talk
You have PM
Aren't you the same newb bashing the guys who know a lot about Vader on RPF and who were the ones discovering some of the small details also present on the best Vader props and helmets? You might want to be more careful before categorizing people. And take it easy before you hurt yourself.
Dont understand your post quite right, but yes, i am the "newb" who is tired to read from the "vader experts" but it was never my intention to "categorizing people" here nor RPF....also im the "newb" who TRIED TO HELP YOU TO GET YOUR LEGEND on R.S., remember?... so, im not as bad as you might think, you are categorizing me. So my advise for you Jkno: If you dont get the full picture, please stay away. Dont fight other peoples war.
Peace¡¡¡
For this price they could have added both bases inside the box.
That's assuming they're already milking us for extra, that could go to another base though isn't it? I hate to pontificate how much the license cost, or the expense of getting the mould, or making a new one, or production. No doubt if they provided 2 bases, we'd have paid more to cover the added cost.
Regardless, it appears there are some good options out there to fashion a smaller base, that looks nice and doesn't cost a fortune. I suspect they anticipated most people would like to get a cover for this, and gave us an excellent base for those ends. Hopefully they'll sell an acrylic cover to fit soon, as they have on some of the other pieces.
I can see why eFX used the base they did. As Avenger said, I bet they are counting on people sourcing a cover for it.
I see Serg got a customized signature plaque for his -good man!

oh really???,...so he wanted to buy an efx Vader legend helm???,...
and he says in every forum that "if I collected vader pieces I would buy a fan made one!!"
i just looked at his cluttered collection and he have more than 15 vader collectibles in there,...that varies from sideshow 1:1 bust; gentle giant statues, cheap sabers and toys,...and he says he doesn't collect vader things,...
probably he spends so much time with his head shoved up Sith lord's butt that he don't see how he contradicts himself all the time!!,...
Not worth to lower myself to such a post. Go your merry way.
Not to forget there are other ANH helmets made from the same Rick Baker mold which eFX used. And since those other helmets are painted by the real professionals and not by some Chinese workers (trained or now), I'd go for them in an instant against any eFX bucket. But those are HARD to find, still well worth the trouble. Glad I'm not a Vader collector because I would have to had one.
Maybe but some of them are the reason we got the eFX Vader helmet. Take Gino for example, he is a Vader specialist or expert as some like to call them. Then there is Jez from StarWarsHelmets, who also helped the community a lot. And there are others who did good. And of course there are some who did bad. But to put them all in the same bowl just because they dare to say something against eFX I'm not sure is the thing to do. They thrive for perfection in their quest. If that is good or bad or just OCD is not our job to say.
I'm not including Gino in that. First off, he's not part of the "clique". In fact, he's considered an outsider among them. And he was personally heavily involved in bringing the first and only official ANH helmet replica to market. Like it or not, he now has credibility and pedigree that his detractors will likely never have.
Also, my problem with this group of vocal clowns isn't that they "thrive for perfection". In fact, I believe that motivation is secondary (at best) to their desire to be known as THE EXPERTS. It's all about them.
That is the kind of stuff that often sours this hobby.
