They already paid for R&D, the prototypes, and photos, plus maybe molds and paint, so it would be cheaper for them to make it versus another bust. Hopefully they sort it out.

Pity they didn't teach the factory to put a clean dome on a bust :lecture

So he's saying they train the painters then they seek better payed work?
In other words Sideshow are cheap? :lol
Pay them a decent wage, you charge enough, then there may be more effort put into your products.

What do you mean, the joke is on the worker. "You got trained by SS, no thanks":rotfl

Indeed, Col. Indeed. :duff

I just looked around to try & find the best minimum hourly rate in China & then currency convert it into £s. The best I could find was from Reuters website with an article from Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:28pm with the headline China raises minimum wage in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin: report.

According to the information from there the best national minimum wage in China works out at around 1.76366 GBP an hour. :(

I'm not suggesting, for a second, that Sideshow pays their Chinese workers this but it does go to show what a lousy time they have over there with regards to finances. Most of the people must be living from hand to mouth & I would certainly hope that Sideshow pay them a lot more money than the country's dreadful minimum wage.

Yup, that's poor and sounds really bad but cost of living is a huge factor too.
How much is Rent, Electricity, Bread, etc...

Regardless SS are making huge profit.

Mine has been officially cancelled by SSC, the item page completely removed so barely a trace remains. A shame...

I guess he'll help pay for the Boba PF I ordered the other day...

Oh sure, mate. Cost of living is always a factor in these matters but I, & you may have too, have seen enough documentaries &/or news pieces to know that poverty in China is commonplace, much more so than it is in the West. The average living standards over there are quite shocking. I'm not at all trying to make myself out to be some kind of expert on the matter, you understand. It really is just, I hope, an informed opinion.

First of all, wow. I'm actually surprised. Bet it had something to do with the near-inevitable quill issues. SSC's crappy-ass QC (or lack thereof) would never pass a single bust.

And it'd be about $700 if it was made here

People would still complain about the price :lol

People would easily pay the price if the sculpts and paint were top notch. The Sano Alien stuff is a perfect example.

my old 1:1 Predalien had a dusty dome, so they couldn't get it right on a $1200 piece either. One of the reasons I got rid of it.

I emailed Sideshow about not getting my refund and they said it is processing and can take 3-5 days to get the money back in our accounts and the reward points are getting added by the end of the week.

I'll check my refund, I forgot about that tbh. I am disappointed we aren't getting this, hoping more of the LSBs that may have been planned will still go ahead.
