Here's a thought - how about Sideshow release in 2 tiers - the "standard" edition at regular prices, and the "executive" at the higher price where quality control is absolute at every stage of production/shipping and you get what items looked like on the website when we ordered them.

Given their problems over the last 6 years I know which I'd pay for.

Yea, I'm bummed. I still don't see why they are canceling it and not delaying it. I'm thinking that production issue is not the only problem they are facing. I dunno, the $20 in rewards was a nice gesture, but I will give them $40 more to get this thing made.. I guess it saves up some money I can spend on the Boba premium format.

if they struggle with some of the 1:2's, why would you want a blown up version? And considering how poorly Berserker did in sales, I doubt SS has much confidence...

I don't believe that this line is dead. My guess is they bit off more than they could chew on this one. Could easily see them doing more of the masked statues such as Wolf and P2.

Igo posted a comment in the thread on statue forum, so I've asked him whether this might be put back up for PO at some stage. Since the preview page is back, I feel like there's a chance.


Edit: Here's what he posted on SF.

Factories changing their teams is common, turn-overs are high, whole factories come and go, etc. To assume that factories always stay the same is presumptuous.

Predators are the hardest to get right out of anything, as you guys all well know. Sometimes we invest a lot of time in training a "team" how to properly paint and produce a series of predators based on a master, then as the run begins that team quits because now they are worth more and look for better work elsewhere, and we have to start over either with a new team or factory… that's totally awesome when that happens.
