That's cause Gears3 is better than Skyrim and MW3. :peace Just ask Spartan Rex, he'll back me up. :lol

Gears gets boring so damn fast. with the same gameplay over and over. If gears didn't have such good graphics it wouldn't be what it is. I think Gears is one of the most over rated games series out there to be honest.

It can be pretty fun when the team dynamic is flowing and the dedicated servers are up but man sometimes...

Just got back....goodbye.

I have been watching lots of gameplay vids and l hope the game play doesn't get boring (just swinging your sword back and forth). I hope th camera goes into third person view often and shows a cinematic kill to keep things fresh. That's why l loved the VATS in Fallout. I hear you an get a perk to cut peoples heads off, but l wish it was overall gorey where you could cut off limbs and stuff on a regular basis.

Fallout isn't even close to this game.

If you're watching people swing their sword all over the place, they're not doing it right. The combat will be as varied as you allow it to be. Magic, bow and arrow, sword and shield...I plan to use a combo of all three. You can play this in the third person if you prefer. It actually looks good in third person now hehe.

Quick question. Do you have to play the other games to know wht your doing ?

Overheard two people today, one was explaining the game to the other , I lol'd at the line "It's like call of duty but...." :lol

another great review.

Man ! evryone is talking about how amazing the soundtrack plays in the game.

ohh man I want this game right now.

you guys playing it on xbox ?

Some notes:

The map is enormous. Like staggeringly huge compared to Oblivion. I know its not meant to be double the size but it feels like it. I think its because Cyrodil was so flat and easy to traverse, where as Skyrim is all huge mountains, jagged peaks, canyons, waterfalls, rapids and it takes so much longer to move around.
But even sticking to paths it is biiiiig game world.

Third person is still awful and close to unplayable when fighting. I'll stick to 3rd person when walking and 1st person when fighting.

Difficulty feels much closer to Morrowind than Oblivion. I'm dying all over the place and getting massacred because I'm aimlessly wandering off the initial quest lines into areas that are probably much higher level.

Specialization in this game is going to be much more important than previous elder scrolls. All the perks are tied to skills and are linear skill trees so to get access to the really cool perks at the top of a skill tree you need to dump a ton of your perk points (1 per level) into a narrow range.

I hope it's not TOO much of a pain to travel. I hate when I want to go to a location and have to travel around some huge mountain to get there. It's just a peeve, but if this map is crazy, it could get annoying. Too bad about the third person thing, I was going to play first person, but third would be a nice option.

Once you've been somewhere you can instantly travel by clicking on the map icon ...so you only have to make it somewhere once if you don't enjoy the walking :)

Also I've seen in towns and cities, carts you can pay to travel on.
