Oh I see what you are doing. Trying to make me feel bad.
I really hope I love this game. I tried Morrowind back in the day on my PC and I kept getting lost and gave up. With Oblivion I never made it out of the dungeon/sewer section in the beginning. Obviously, I didn't give either one of them enough time to really get into the story..but I'm hoping this one will hook me right away.

My dream came true when I read the first paragraph in the IGN review - Weapon racks with slots!! YES! Should be a huge improvement from the cases in Oblivion. And I dreamed of them in Fallout 3 and NV.
Im the type who likes to collect at least one of every obtainable object in these games, and then decorate the house with them. Placing unique objects and weapons on shelves tables and such. In NV I'm very close to having every object in the game.
Less than 12 hours baby. I have off work tomorrow, going to the midnight release tonight and then 4 of us are going to my buddies house and all playing Skyrim "lan" style.
Didn't know anything about Elder scrolls or Oblivion when it came out,so I gave it try based on good word of mouth and it was nothing short of a gaming revelation for me.
The second you step out of the sewer and look at the night sky was a wonderous moment. Played all the DLC, decorated my houses just so etc etc.
Then I thought well damn I've gotta try Morrowind now because some thought it was actually better and deeper in many ways than Oblivion.
It took a while for the powers that be to come out with a backwards compatible version for the 360 but I did give it a try. Sadly I couldn't get past the inferior graphics and having to read all the dialog. I hope that Bethesda will go back and give it a HD facelift like Halo is receiving.
Now for a confession of my darkest gaming secret:
I have not finished the main quest and shut the last Oblivion gate yet now almost 5 years later despite doing everything else in the game and all the DLC!
It was conscious decision at first but time and other games came and went and it was left.
However I have the 5th Ann version and intend too tie it up and immediatley dove tail into Skyrim.
Seems poetic in a way. A great gaming chapter closes and a greater one in the same world begins.
I probably spent more time in total playing Oblivion than any other game I've purchased for the 360 or PS3. If Skyrim goes on for even half as long, it will be well worth every penny.

It sucks that it is tough to go back and play Morrowind if you played Oblivion first. I didn't have that problem, I started with Daggerfall and then go into Morrowind (still the best ES game in my opinion). I played the crap out of Oblivion but I don't think I will ever go back to play that one. Morrowind has a special place in my heart and I do a play through at least once a year.
It suffers from the same problem Fallout 3 and Fallout NV suffered from in my opinion, the women don't really look like women. It's a lot better but still far from perfect.
Played for about 2 hrs now, including making my character and I have to say it freaking rocks!!!
The artbook is amazing! Just that makes it worth to buy the CE IMO! The statue is really nice, but the stone base feels really cheap. But it makes for a nice display piece in my reading corner!
All in all an awesome set of my favourite gameseries ever! Wouldn't want to miss this for the world!
