I am lvl 2 now and you guys are going to hate me but I am not feeling this game right now. the 5min of uncharted 3 sucked me right in.
I might of made a mistake buying this game.
i feel its going to have the same out come as oblivion for me.
started it and never finished it.

the graphics on the consoles dont looks that great. mybe on the pc will be
better. The ps3 version has huge frame rate issues and there is no point getting it on 360 because it runs the same or worst. pc version has lots of issues.

I dont know what to think of this game right now with all this other tittles coming out.
I know skyrim is not about graphics but I want to see better graphics and uncharted 3 for me is such a better adventure and it looks unreal.
no way this is game of the year for me.

If you didnt like Oblivion, then you should know what you'll find with Skyrim .. a shame you do'nt like it, and a total waste of money for you if you ask me .:monkey1

Uncharted 3 better adventure??? ¿¿Are you kidding right?? :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Uncharted and Skyrim are a completely different kind of games, (day and night) U3 is a short, scripted and lineal adventure its cool, like a movie, but sorry sSkyrim is THE ADVENTURE,:
You can do what you want to do, or go where you want to go spending hundreds of hours in an unreal world (Graphics are irrelevant but Skyrim has a pretty sweet ones )

I own the PS3 version, but I was playing the 360 yesterday and the FR is more solid and smooth than the PS3 version. neverthless I did'nt buy Skyrim for the graphics..

And I,m sorry but Skyrim is the true GOTY

Ps: btw:

I know this is a simple thing and I'm just overlooking it but where do i go to get a gem appraised? I talked to the guy in the Hall of the Dead in Whiterun and he said he lost a gem. I found an unusual gem but I can't give it back to him before I get it appraised.

When I tried doing that quest, I activated it in the menu. It took me to Riften to the guy named Maul but my previous visit to Riften I backed out of his conversation, so now he just tells me to "get away from him"

Another glitched quest on top of all the others perhaps? Wouldn't surprise me.

Oh and fyi if you're unsure of what to do for a quest, in the menu hightlight the quest and one of the options at the bottom of the screen is "show on map" and that will point you in the direction.

Go to the market place and walk around, a guy will insult you about how you made your money and he is the lead into the guild. I ran into him in the bar called Bee & Barb or something like that. He has some Nordic name like Rynholdencaughbeirn the 42nd...

For those who are further along in the main quest . . . does there come a time, say, if you join the stormcloaks that the people in Solitude will be hostile or vice versa with those in Winterholm?

I'm real curious about if you purchase the house in Solitude will they hate you eventually making it hard to get to the house.

im at level 9 and as soon as i heard about the the college of mage at winterhold i went straight there to learn more magic. im loving this game :rock:rock

I'm just on level 3 so far, but reading some of the stuff in this thread (you can get followers/side kicks to carry more stuff for you?? :yess:) - I can't wait to get more experienced :lol

Loved Oblivion and this is shaping up to be a clear step up from that

Yeah you get Lydia when you buy the house in Whiterun, but she is really only effective in the lower levels. I am at Lvl 16 and she gets killed a lot - so I treat her like a mule (load her up with the goods and have her wait when trouble comes). I am leveling up pick pocketing to get the extra 100 pound weight limit and then I will deep six her as I am getting tired of waiting an hour every time I run in the wilderness for her to catch up...

lv2? lol you've experienced maybe 0.001% of the game. Anyways I think maybe the technical issues and frame rate things you are experiencing are making it hard for you to get into the game. Uncharted is the best executed action game I've ever played hands down, but its not really comparable to Skyrim because they are completely different genre. I have the PC version, 0 technical issues, 28 hours, level 15 so far.

No offense but I think you tend to get over-excited about too many different types of games. I know your a major military/FPS and MGS lover. And I just remember seeing your comments leading up the Skyrim release and you sound super hyped, and now your giving up after getting to level 2...just kind of strange. Dont yout get to level 2 after 15 minutes? Maybe this dungeon and dragons stuff simply isn't your cup of tea (even if you play wow)...hard to imagine a hardcore dungeon and dragons gamer giving up on Skyrim at level 2. I mean, imagine if I were to go into a new MGS game thread 10 days before release and start saying how hyped I am (seeming as if I never followed the game through the years of development and having just saw the trailer), then once it is finally released, annouce that I'm giving up after playing the intro because there are so many issues with the game. It just shows I was never really that into MGS to begin with.

Anyways, I probably come off sounding like a fanboy, so no hard feelings. I just think maybe you jumped on the Skyrim bandwagon too late and stayed on it too short to give it a fair assessment. But hey, your opinion is your opinion and I respect it.

Yeah man, you can't compare this to UC3 for starters. Two different games. One is interactive movie on rails, this one is huge open world. And you have to know a game THIS HUGE in scope and scale is going to have bugs and issues. Thankfully these are also the days of quick and easy patches. Click and done.
Secondly, this is better off on the PC anyway I am guessing. Easier to tweak and adjust things, and again, patches come out quick and often.
Most people are saying this game is epic and one of the games of the year for sure. They can't all be wrong. It has to be good on some level. This type is just not for everyone, that's all.
Again, it's a big game and so epic in scope, that's why people love it and it's ambitious doing that I guess.
AS far as graphics too, a game this big, yes is not going to also focus on the best graphics possible either. It's more about the size then the graphics. That being said, on my PC it looks amazing, has fluid framerates and running at insane resolutions. If I don't get into it, it's not because it's not a great game, it's probably because I'm busy with WOW or something lol But I have all winter. I wll play this game I believe.

I'm all about PC right now man. Just playing PS3 for those "exclusive" titles like the Uncharted series. I will play #3 when I'm done with the second.

And my line up of PC gaming right now looks like this all winter:
COD MW3
BF3
Batman AA and AC
Skyrim
WOW
NFS the Run
etc

Okay, I think he get's it :lol :rotfl:lol

lvl 5 now and i am getting really hooked now.
getting lots of quests done.

I am really enjoying the game now.
for some reason at night time the graphics look amazing.
in day time the HDR lighting brings all the imperfections.

I will take my time with this game and finish it.
The music is just incredible.

Try adjusting the in-game contrast/brightness. Might help.

The music in this game is the best ever. I've caught myself just listening to the title screen. :lol

got my 7.1 soround sound blasting to the main tittle song.

why can we get epic movies with this lvl of soundtrack.

I hope they make a skyrim movie with this lvl of productions.

How the ____ can they make a movie of a sandbox game?

Riiiiight, because there is no story??? Elder Scroll games have a pretty deep story, you may have noticed the thousands of NPC discussions, books, inscriptions, etc? Besides they made a movie on Mario Brothers :cuckoo:, a Skyrim movie would rock...

Anyone want to play a drinking game? Let's all take a swig everytimg Solidsnake uses the word "epic" in a thread.

Won't take long to be good and ____ed up. :lecture:drink

I don't really see it as a movie either. I mean, it'd be just in name alone. There aren't really any original concepts or characters that would really make it anything but a generic medieval movie with Skyrim's name tacked on it.

I hate it when they make movies based on games that don't really have much to do with the game itself except in the title. At least with movies like Super Mario Bros., Hitman, and Street Fighter they had actual characters to use. Still didn't make them very good movies but if the game doesn't have a stand out character or characters to use in the film and make it actually look like the game, it only ends up being a cash grab to make money off of a game's fame because of the title in my opinion.
