You obviously don't know much about marathon runners or running marathons. Most people don't win, and they know they won't. Therefore, there are a LOT of people who only race for their personal best. Heck, a lot of people just strive to finish! Yes, of course everyone would like to win, but not everyone is driven to do so, but the point is that marathons are fair, and people win according to their OWN ability, and everyone knows when the race is when they are in it, and everyone starts at the same time, and theoretically, everyone COULD come in at exactly the same time. There is no limit on how many people can post a certain time.

These collectibles should have the same degree of non scalping regulation as do concert tickets if not more.

My level of knowledge about marathon runners, etc doesn't really matter....but if you must know, I work on an annual marathon. I was just using the marathon analogy to paint runners with the same broad brush the ASC wants to paint scalpers/flippers with.

That argument makes no sense. I'd also like to point out that a good reputation is NOT worth more then money. It's worth more then immediate gains! Companies worry about reputation because a good reputation leads to more money down the road, not because it makes them feel good!

I'd also like to point out that if Sideshow HAD sold the statue for a $1000 bucks it STILL wouldnt be scalping! When an airline inflates the cost of a flight by 400% the day of travel its NOT scalping...its just increased value of the ticket for a service they provide!

In other words, since Sideshow didnt BUY it first and were the initial owners they can't possibly scalp! So, if Sideshow had charged $1000 it would have prevented profitable resale and thus eliminated the oppotunity for scalping.

Honestly dude, to call scalping immoral is just silly. Unfair, aggrivating, annoying...OK, but with alllll of the horrible and immoral behaviors that exist....I dont know it just seems silly to worry about!

So, all of those people who run the NYC marathon don't care one bit about coming in first as long as they beat their PR? Please just stop. You're embarassing yourself.

There is about 10,000 people who run a large city marathon. 10,000 people are not thinking they have a chance to come in first. In fact, there are probably only about 4 or 5 ELITE runners who have any chance of coming in first, second or third. The other 9,996 or 9,995 people are quite sure they have no chance in hell of winning. When I do a marathon or a half marathon, I am 100% sure I'm not going to win. I have no desire to win. I want to improve on my previous times, I want to enjoy the day and the event. I want to get a nice shiny metal at the end for having done it. That is what 9,996 or 9,995 of us want. You obviously don't know anything about this and YOU are seriously embarassing yourself.
