I have a feeling in hand this piece will be amazing - but the pics just aren't doing it. I wish they would pose him like a well known still photo from Jedi for a direct comparison.

Those 12" pics for instance look amazing - way better than the PF photos - but I can tell if it's the sculpt or just the weird lighting and hood position. Moreover, the detail / painting is really hard to tell on the regular. The eye's for instance are so important.

The exc. looks like the paint is about to chip off!

Yeah, I don't think it will sell out quickly, but more concern of waiting a couple of months for the light up pics. I just don't see this piece lasting long...it's the first emperor PF AND he's in the iconic chair pose.

Only thing holding me back is the $500 price. Really thought it would come in at $400.

I hate to admit I feel somewhat underwhelmed after seeing the pics. The alternate leaning forward pose with his hands in the air is completely unnecessary. I'm not really sure what they were trying to go for with that.

This is still a must have for me. I'm just glad it's only $500 when I was expecting it to be at least $600.

I have mounted a couple of pics to see since it might be the size of the Emperor PF. I have compared the size of the apples in the photos and obtain a bit minor Palpatine of the awaited thing goes out for me. I hope that it is a mistake in the size of the apple and not that SS has designed a smaller figure of usual.

I have several doubts. One is the size of the figure (if it is really 1/4 scale), other one is to see likeness of the regular head, in pics are not seen sufficiently well.

I went back and forth between 12" and PFs in my purchases last year. I finally convinced myself to stick just to the PFs and was going to sell some of the 12" line. Now I'm not so sure, especially with the most recent 12" releases of Greedo, Hammerhead and Rex.

From the photos, it just looks exactly like the 12" version. I think I'll stick with my 12" one.
I personally think the articulation on this PF is not necessary at all. it is pointless. Able to lean forward and back a little and what?!

Bear in mind the Premium Throne is a bit further away from the camera in its apple photo than the 1:6 Throne is (which will, of course, make the Premium throne appear somewhat smaller than it actually is); too bad Sideshow just didn't publish a photo of the two next to each other. I don't suppose we've gotten a listing of the dimensions for it yet? It should be 15" in 1:4, since it was 10" in 1:6.

In any case, thus far I'm underwhelmed. It looks nice, but unless it is true 1:4 scale it's definitely not going to be worth 250% of the 1:6 throne + emperor figure's price, and even then that might be pushing it. The Exclusive head isn't doing it for me, so in the unlikely event I do choose this item to take my 1:4 cherry (as I'd planned before seeing the photos and the price) I'll be going with a retailer.

I prefer the regular head with the hands resting on the throne, looking sinister. The other expression and the raised hands make me think that Palpatine just sat on a pine cone.

Stay with the 12"...that's what she said. The 12" looks just as good as the pf...I'd save the 400 bucks for two or three other 12" figures. To me this is not an epic pf like the speeder bike is.
