I was super psyched when I saw the original video, but seeing the reveal pics and the price tag I'm very underwhelmed. For whatever reason when I look at this, all I see is the 12" doll in a chair. Something about the hands pose looks off.

Maybe it will grow on me, I really want to love this, but I don't right now

Hate to say it, but an easy pass for me. Just doesn't look right.

:( I have to sadly agree.

I guess maybe I need to see some more closeups of that face, but from those images I have to say that sorta killed any momentum of interest I had toward this piece.

That's exactly my thought too! It reminds me of a 12" in a chair!

Aw man..... hmmphhh.... :(

I'll reserve judgement until I see better pictures. Those pictures didn't give a very good view point on the "relaxed" head sculpt. Personally, I don't see much value in the "angry" scult/pose. Looks like Vader left a tack in his chair. Even with inclusion of sith lightning, the pose just wouldn't resonate with me (particularly considering that plastic lightning has never looked good).

Need to see an closeup pic from the head/face of the regular.
The exclusive doesn't do anything for me.

I agree, it looks like a 12" figure in a chair. I think my main problem is it just doesn't look like the Emperor in ROTJ. I don't see Ian's likeness at all. I know that's hard to capture with all that heavy makeup he had on, but still, it doesn't have the feel of the Emperor to me. Perhaps better pictures could change my mind, but I'm not counting on it. I much prefer the life size bust they did, though that one looked more like the Emperor from the prequels (not that that is in any way a bad thing!).

Well, I entered the Production Blog hoping to be impressed and instead leave underwhelmed. The exclusive is an easy pass, with an awkward pose and sculpt that don't really work with the throne. I'm not a fan of the neutral sculpt either, but close-ups might remedy that. It's strange that they gave us a detailed shot of the exclusive, but not of the neutral face. The only positive I can see so far is that the price is lower than I expected (and even lower for the regular at a retailer).

I like the calm pose,
not so sure about the exclusive one...
I can't help but think of this:

It will have light-up features as stated in the Inside Look video. Pictures showcasing that will be posted when available (which will more than likely be in a few months).

Alex - Any chance we can get a closeup pic of the regular face?!

Also the hs looks like they based it on the prequel emperor which looks silly to me compared to the original makeup and prosthetics of rotj. I think honestly this piece needs to be around $275. For $500 I expected much more.

The pic above of him reaching for the present is priceless, just doesn't look menacing.

I haven't been collecting for long but was looking for to this day for a while. I have to say that it's not that impresive...Looks like what other have said...a 12 inch figure in a chair. I would have expected much more considering the $500 price tag. Maybe better pics or more details regarding this figure will be released on the 3rd?

Piece looks really good. Really like both sculpts and of course they're similar to what we got with the 1:6th figure.
