Kabe is magic and although an old sculpt of Duanes he is now casting them up for folks... we are so lucky :)

Elis is new and comes with some cantina hands. Its a real treat to work on and is nice an simple to kitbash it together

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Okay, it's been awhile, time to share a few more custom pics involving Enaud's awesome sculpts. I've been working on several custom simultaneously this time round, since the initial go round with Nabrun gave me a confidence boost. It's been a real toss up as to who would be finished first, but the next alien to cross the finish line (due mainly to the simplicity of his outfit) is:

Takeel!

This one was a real sleeper of a figure for me. I wasn't that enthusiastic about him, compared to some of the other Cantina denizens, but when I was finished, I absolutely fell in love with him! :inlove He's so cute and has a lot of character, he strikes me as the most cheerful drunk at the bar, the guy who just sorta bears witness to everything.

Up next, some WIP pics that I couldn't show until Dorg's official reveal of Wave III. Each of these is unfinished, but I've been having fun working on them. First up, the head of Kabe:

Funny how these pics can show off the flaws, I see in this pic a few details I wanna go back a touch up, but the head is basically done. Now comes the hard part: the body/outfit...

And here we have Elis Helrot, very much incomplete (his hands aren't even attached and he is still barefoot at the moment). For such a simple design, I have repainted him several times. He had much more blue and red wash at the temples, simulating veins, and I was using a watered down mix of "skull white" and "bleached bone" to knock the washes back a bit. I had it right where I wanted it, then decided I wanted his head more "white" than "bone", so decided to give it one more go. Yeeeaaaah, I lost most of the detail from the red and blue washes. :stakeAh Well, don't think I'm gonna go through all that again, but I do want to clean him up a bit around the eyes and nose - maybe. If I'm feeling brave. I'm still hunting for the cloth "tabbard" thingie from Hasbro's 'Ultimate Villain' Anakin to Vader figure (the part of Anakin's costume that's supposed to be black leather, but Hasbro cheaped out and made it from cloth). Think that would make a grand addition to Elis' outfit, but I can't find mine...yet. Just in case, anyone have one they don't need?

So, that's all for now. Still have a couple aliens alllllllmost done, but they need finishing touches to their outfits before I do any pics. I'm pleased with where they're at, but they really do need a bit of polish before they are camera-ready. Fun, fun, fun! :fireworks

Ohhh man, Mark, I love the clean look of your work! I'm so excited to finish these two off - the painting is the relaxing part for me, trying to pull the outfits together gives me fits! Your Kabe is abso-freakin'-lutely ADORABLE, big fan of the articulation you've achieved in the neck, allows for such expressive poses. I love this little bat, I'm trying to take great pains to get her right...

Khonsu, great paint apps mate! Your guys look fantastic.

I cant wait to work on these guys myself, must finish other projects first.

Thanks man, that really means a lot to me coming from an experienced customizer, since I'm new to all this. Nabrun was my first painted fig, Kabe and Elis tied for fourth, and Takeel was actually fifth. Two other cantina aliens were second and third (more on them in the very near future) and I'm currently working on Dr. Evazan. Working on aliens has been a great learning experience, lots of trial and error, picking up new tips and tricks all the time. Dr. E is my first "human" likeness (albeit very deformed), so it's got me sweating bullets a bit. If you make a mistake on a human face, it will pop right out atcha. I'm about to do the eyes, which, IMO, is the trickiest past. Wish me luck!

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

I agree with Chakaman Khonsu, your guys look great man! We are all so lucky to have Duane making these guys :)

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Quick few pics on how I put my Kabes together....

first I dremeled the head out and glue guned a lego bionicle ball joint in it... as i really wanted the head to have as much expression as possible.

I am using a Jawa body... pulled the head off... cut the fore arms off and the shins.... did not have enough ball joints to make the elbows so I am using bendy wire. but the knees work fine.
