I hate the idea of multiple characters in a line, maybe later down the road but this early is stupid. Thats one less character that could of been made, and in Star Wars the possibilities of characters is endless.

So why did they make another Luke instead of the Emperor, or any other character that is a must have?

I agree. I have to say I would be pretty annoyed if the next 1:6 LOTR was ROTK Aragorn.

They did it JUST to piss people off. There, i said it. :lol

Whats funny here is the hypocracy of people. If they had made Old Ben I bet people would be happier then pigs in s**t. But hmm wouldn't that make 4 Obi-wans? Why yes it would and would be a duplicate of a PF. Come one we have two Mauls a PF and 1/6th and he was in what 15 minutes of a film. Luke is the center of the OT and deserves multiuple versions, if they start doing 3-4 a day then thats bad, but one a years is more then acceptable.

I agree with the Luke choice! He is an essential part of SW and multiple versions is fine with me... even if I'm not buying him.

SW is the only line I think (besides Marvel) they are doing 100% right! :D

This is a perfect time for another Luke. I figured we'd be gettin his second version soon, though this isn't quite the Luke I thought would be second. I expect us to end up with between 5-6 12" Lukes and 3-4 PF's. We have over 15 total 12" announcements already. Quite your crying because there are more Lukes to come. If this license lasts for 5 years we should see around 75-80 figures. That's plenty of chances for anyone who's anyone to be made.

If they were to do every Star Wars character seen in the Saga then they will have to make hundreds and hundreds. Hasbro has done what... almost 1000 since 1995 but that includes about 75-80 variations of Tatooine Luke and Vader alone.

I like Luke, it's only a Con exclusive and it's not that much of a big deal. At least they aren't doing like they originally planned with convention exclusives. Otherwise, Kit Fisto would have taken the place of Sith Eyed Ani and we'd all be mad.

The biggest thing to remember about this figure is that it is a convention exclusive.

Ok, I know everyone wants Palpatine, Vader, Old Ben, Stomrtroopers, etc. instead of another Luke, but can you just fathom for a moment the absolute extent of how utterly and completely p***ed people on this board would be if a brand new figure, one that everyone was clamoring for, was announced as a convention exclusive?

Luke is an excellent choice for an exclusive. I'm sure there will be plenty of new figures in the future ...

*******

Darn typo ... That should read Luke ...

I get what everyone is saying and I agree with everyone for the most part. People want this figure and we can't blame SSC for making it, even though I probably won't be buying it.
I have been pretty good about buying the 1/6 Star Wars line and Ceremonial Luke, like the Endor marines, is not a "must have" in my book.
The fact that this is the second Luke in the series makes sense, considering it is a Comic Con Exclusive. They could put out a Luke every year and over saturate the market like Mattel did with Masters of the Universe. MOTU is dead because they had a He-Man and Skeletor in every series, smothering the other figures and killing the line.
Last year the exclusive was re-painted Anakin with a new better stand and higher price.
A Luke here and there is not a bad thing. I think I will just hold out for Luke in Bespin gear/training with Yoda outfit.
Wouldn't it be cool if they made an Empire Strikes Back Luke that comes with Yoda and a severed hand?

I have the Jedi 12" Luke. I don't care for the Yavin Luke they're making, but the PF's seem nice, I just don't do PF's too often. I want a Besipin 12" and a Jedi PF and I'm solid. Now or later though, I don't really care.

Some of you have hit it on the head: the lack of variety in this line is what is killing interest for me. There are so many characters in this universe, it is a shame that we have not gotten some very popular ones, like the Emperor. This line has been going for a year-and-half. At this point, I am passing on most figures, except the iconic ones, like ANH Han or Ben.
