again, i know i've said it too many times as is, but this thing is just beastly! pictures and videos only enhance and substantiates my views on it! next to harlock and his throne chair, this is my most anticipated figure for the year.

This thing is going to own my shelf. Now, to get that Arnie 1/4 or not....

This is in my opinion is like getting a PF of Tom Welling when I wanted a Christopher Reeve. Ppl settling for a Robocop 3 figure is the same to me lol. It does look great though. But not worth my money

In the first video, it looks like the Robert Burke mouthpiece is the mounted on the figure straight out of the box. Looks hideous imo lol

Its quite a packed release for an Enterbay figure objectively speaking. Its just that with much of it being from Robocop 3 those accessories literally do not count for many many people.

The significance is the price, when nobody want's any of the other things included really

Also the colour

Precisely!
I'm passing because I wanted Robocop, not part 2 or 3.

I might be in the minority here, but I also don't like the sound effects or voices for high-end collectibles. They make the piece appear to be more toyish in my opinion, especially when the sound quality is no better than that of a Hasbro with similar sound features. The audio often has static and sounds like it's coming from inside a tin can.

If what people are after is a figure that has the look of the film character, then I think both of these ably qualify. But these minor differences are of interest to some of us - as they are the things that collectors can spot from one item to another over the years. They're what we use to evaluate improvements in them and thus their worth to us as movie accurate collectibles vs. their asking price. Your mileage may vary :)
Great post.
I gave it a load of thinking but finally I won't take EB nor HT.
I will keep the money for a Tippett approved replica (Popculture shock?) rather than a toy.
I choose accuracy in the end.

Many thanks for that. I agree. The recent Christopher Reeve Sideshow Premium Format figure has had the costume done from direct reference to the real item which was exhibited recently. The differences between it and the Hot Toys approximation of the costume are massive.

With RoboCop, we've gone up a gear with these recent things from Hot Toys and Enterbay - they're now really close to accurate. But these small inaccuracies are precisely the things that the kind of figure you suggest would rectify. And some with either of the current EB or HT figures might end up selling them on eBay in favour of a more accurate piece.

The latter is of course what's happened this time round, there's been a ton of older RoboCop figures being sold as people are wanting to upgrade to these latest figures. I totally get that, they're the best yet. But they're not 100% and I personally think, these days, and for the money these go for, they ought to be.

But we don't all agree, which is fine. Life would be very dull if we all had the same views :)

But the SS PF Reeve release has a horrible sculpt in comparison to the HT version? Neither is perfect, both have their strengths and weaknesses. My point being is that you are looking for the unobtainable. You will never get a commercially released mass produced product that is 100% perfect. That's what these are, mass produced high end toy/collectibles. They are not exact, precise prop replicas.

And whilst I also strive to get 1/6th figures looking as accurate and realistic as possible, I have become aware of the years that it's best to celebrate the good aspects, sure go ahead and discuss what's wrong (I do!) and what can be fixed or modded, but don't let it put you off the hobby. I cannot think of one, not one, 1/6th or 1/4 scale figure that I am 100% happy with. It doesn't exist..and to linger on the negatives would mean giving up, or having a very very small collection.

Thanks to the last two vids I ended up pre-booking with BBTS, paying a little more but it'll give me a piece of mind dealing with an established retailer. EB has scared me as a retailer considering their moves in the last few weeks. Pulling most their FB pages, not answering on their "USA" FB page and getting others asking questions on there about why they aren't answering emails...still psyched to get the fig!

I guess with all the QC issues every company has been having in whatever form and all the bad press that spreads like wild fire on here they just pulled the site. I for one think news good or bad on these social networks allows companies a good channel to hear customers concerns and to hopefully utilize it as an essential tool t better ones self.
