Bill also said a few months back that they would keep the price of this guy "close to $400." I can certainly see the price being higher than for the new Bruce Lee, but $500 is not particularly close to $400.

I agree and could easily see it going for more now, after seeing the price for HD Bruce Lee.
Why are people freaking out about the price.
Looking at EB's website:
T-800 - $400
Rambo 3 - $360
Joker - $360
Batman - $360
Bruce Lee - $375
That's without shipping, and I know they changed something about shipping after the T-800, but still, to date, the first T-800 had the highest product price.

I think some were a little surprised to see Bruce come in at $435 shipped. I was hoping for him to be about the same price as Rambo at $400 shipped, but I was wrong. I am curious to know what the grand total will be for the BD T-800 shipped. I have my fingers crossed that it will be in the $450 range, but wouldn't be surprised if it goes for more.

For a 500 hundred I can buy one HT and an extra body from e-bay easily to make two BD T-800s...

MaulFan, I don't remember the T-800 being $400 BEFORE shipping. I made some backtracking before replying to your post, and yes, Jeff Parker's review of the 1/4 T800 at the Captain Toy review site says it went for $399 SHIPPED.
Last night I checked the new Bruce Lee fig on the EB website and was also surprised to see that the sold-out T800 was posted as $400, assuming that it was before shipping since the rest of the 1/4 line's prices were posted that way.
So I thought "did EB try to sneak a fast one on us since some might no longer remember, so they can easily justify something like $420 BEFORE SHIPPING on the upcoming 1/4 BD T2?"

I hope it doesn't come in around that price. I can't even consider it for that much, but around the $445 range sounds okay to me. I wont buy from EB direct though, so I will have to wait and see who offers it in the states.

That's not true. So far they are all about the same. T-800, Rambo, Batman, and Joker each can be had for around $400 shipped. Bruce Lee is now their most expensive figure.
