I don't even see a screenshot of the letter! It's trickery!

Maybe Enterbay already has a bunch of those heads made and waiting to be shipped. Let's see if they release new bodies with heads that coincidentally look like Jamie Foxx and Christoph Waltz!

ok close the thread then, time to move on....
the official annoucement is posted already....

That's the thing, with EB's release schedule, you know these were already in production. I'm 80% sure we can count on a base body release from EB sooner or later.

Awesome! I can only see good news here either way. The letter, if real, indicates either that Enterbay are really ramping up the sales hype on an imminent release; or that they won't be releasing the figures as officially licensed sets. If it's the former, then we can expect to see these in stores within the month. If it's the latter, we can expect to see base body + head sculpt sets, supplemented by costume sets. This is SO COOL! Pumped for these bad boys!

Yeah, this is great news. Really looking forward to them now. I was actually somewhat hesitant as to whether in the end I would pull the trigger on all three (I was set on getting DiCaprio but not sure about the others) but now I'm thinking I'll get all three for sure.

Not sure if this has been posted:

In a nutshell, Enterbays response to a customer...

Dear customer,

Django will be not releasing because Weinstein has decided to cancel the project. Same reason with NECA. We are waiting for the official letter from Weinstein before we could make official announcement.

Thank you for your continuous support.

ON WITH YOU LIVES PEOPLE,THERES NOTHING TO SEE HERE...

There's no way in hell Enterbay iis putting these sculpts on the market, officially or unofficcialy. Even if they went into production they are not going to risk the small profit they'd make over selling a few base bodies with a lawsuit from a Hollywood/New York powerhouse that could potentially shut down their business.

With Matt Damon, it's not like they had the Bourne lisence, the lisences pulled out and they went ahead and did it anyway. Think about how highly illegal that would be, not only defining a direct order from the Weinstien company, but effectively cutting them out of the profit they would get as the lisence holder.

Keep dreaming fellas.

I don't understand why enterbay do not use the way of release this figure with others names to bypass the copyright licence...
it could be lke... the black cowboy, the bady guy in red, the doc bounty hunter...and we can got the django figures..in hand without problem

LEJUAN STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP....you are overheating the hype..and the OO :lol

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaahahha

But Raymond... they aren't releasing Django and Shultz. They're releasing Random Black Man and Random German Man. I don't think Weinstein would mind. Not like the crazy people are going to protest a nude body and head release. They don't want people to think they're batty!

I definitely don't think it would get the protestors panties in a bunch bud, but I do think that Weinstien would slap a lawsuit on Enterbay quicker than the Flash on speed... They cant do anything with those heads, ever. Weinstein will find out. They went through licensers approvals, actors approvals for likenesses etc. They are in direct copyright violation if they release them to the public and for profit, and they are cutting out the license holder from profit. Trust me they will more than mind.

Trust me I've worked on the other end of Weinstien before, a coupe times actually... they are a force not to be reckoned with.

I can still see these being released in China under a different company enterbay sets up. There are no trade mark agreements in china. From there to being exported to the world.

:slap:gah::thwak

I'm pretty sure Weinstien will recognize the product that Enterbay made for them even under a different company name (which they won't do anyway, they still have to go through the trouble of setting up a new company, the cost and time alone of that is not worth the profit). THEY APPROVED IT...

You think Enterbay will risk the small profit they would make off these figures (and sorry guys it is SMALL, this is not Batman or Iron man we are talking about here) with a potentially crippling lawsuit and also tarnishing the relationship with one of the most prominent production houses in the world? And kiss a future working relationships and partnerships and future licensing opportunities goodbye?

These 'aint happening guys. don't know how else to break it down for you.

You know Enterbay came out the winners here because Weinstein co. has to compensate for the production line.If the figure was still in blueprint form then no biggie but when you have a line of 5000+ boxed and ready to go someone has to pay! Also,i don't think Harvey has any say so as to what generic figure Enterbay decides to put out, even if it has a striking(lifelike)resemblance of the actors of said movie.Just as long as there's no mention of the Weinstein property, their hands are tied. That explains why so many other 1/6 co. have managed to put out figures that resemble(more so then others)certain film characters."Where there's a will(in this case a Bill),there's a way".I think so anyway!^_^

The only thing they could do is release generic bodies with the actor's likenesses if the heads were all completely new sculpts.

I deal with creative copyright stuff all the time, I know how this stuff works intimately. Those heads we saw sculpted? We won't be seeing them in any way shape or form. A brand new Enterbay sculpted head that looks like Jamie Foxx, expression and hair like he did in Django? Sure why not. But not that sculpt... no way no how!

And CeeemOr is right, if the figures went into production Enterbay would have to be compensated for those costs. it's not like they are sitting on a huge profit loss and have to find some sneaky way to make it back. The canceling of the line was not their decision.

I was lucky enough to pick up a horse figure at a garage sale today, which will hopefully fit with Django. I put another figure on the horse and it looks alright, maybe a tad undersized. What worries me is that people say that EB figures are oversized, so maybe the horse wont work. I guess I'll have to wait to see for sure but if it works I want to have my Django figure posed on a horse. Schultz and Candie I plan to just pose normally. Even if I found three horses I wouldn't pose them on the horses.

That's going to be one lonely horse....

Is it possible we might see the clothing sets released somehow since the figures were cancelled?

I'm still going to HOPEFUL that all of this is for publicity and Enterbay is still going to release them(all three).Wouldn't it be AWESOME if this weekend Bill drops the bomb with production PICS?!Personally,i would be as happy as seeing all the new figs. at SDCC!What a wonderful world that would be...^_^

Saw the movie again last night, all of us freaks should start a petition followed by what a positive iconic character Django is an Ex black slave turned gunslinger during slavery times . How many iconic freemen characters have graced the screen ? And every hero needs it's villain -as
Leonardo does so well. I'm sure the Weinstein company doesn't get much fandom correspondence. It could work and get us a released Schultz too.
