that will be good for all the 1/4 statue collectors :clap

i would personally prefer a 1/6 action figure option as well.. it'll be a great addition to the rest of the BL collection

If I were EB; I'd release a "boxed set" of Classic Bruce Lee heads for each movie.

So for example: a GOD Boxed Head set that comes with maybe 5 heads representing iconic expressions from that movie.

Then one set for each other movie. Just heads - nothing else. People would have to buy the body set separately.

I would buy them :wave

that's a pretty cool idea.. just that it probably means EB would have to offer outfit sets as well.

if that comes true it would mean i can finally get my hands on an improved WOTD BL. :yess:

It's a good strategy for EB: The head that comes with the full figure set wouldn't be available in the Boxed Head set. So collectors would buy both the Figure Set and the Boxed Head set. I would.

And people who don't want the whole figure set - or can't afford it - can buy just the Boxed Head set to bash a BL.

we'd be the first two customers methinks. :)

I just received in the mail - a USB Spotlight from the GoD set that I bought off eBay. You know this already Rory - but:

- It's huge. Bigger than I expected.
- Very nice detailing. There's very subtle rust weathering.
- A lot of the parts are made of metal so the thing feels really sturdy.

Very impressed. I'll post some action shots of it later lol.

Yes and it works! Twist the little release dial and it extends upwards. Just like the real thing. The subtlety of the painting is really amazing.
Honestly have you ever seen anything like this in a HT set?

Well to be fair, GoD buyers are paying a $100 premium over the cost of the HT DX04 for this package so one would expect the accessories to be top shelf :)

This spotlight is more than I expected though. I just noticed it has rubber wheels that look like they have also been weathered to look like the light has been in use. And the light flaps are nicely scaled - thin and not thick like you would usually expect.

If the other prop pieces match this level of quality and detail - I personally feel it's definitely more bang for the buck!

I definitely would buy a set of heads. BL is perfect for this type of marketing too since like every points out - he's got so many iconic expressions in each of his movies. Expressions that wouldn't be appropriate as the main headsculpt, but people would eat them up as alternate heads.

That's just it Tin, as soon as you open the box you realise why the price tag on this isn't a rip off. Honestly if someone was selling the wooden dio as a custom piece, people would jump on it for 100$. It's polished stained wood. The light is metal. The camera box is wood, the chair is wood and fabric with brass hinges. Regardless of what folk think of the sculpt this us simply a different level of presentation from HT. And trust me I love the DX, I have 2.

Yup.
Its been pretty clear to me from the start why this costs more than a HTs figure.
Its the HIGH quality dio and accessories that it comes with.
Just a shame more people dont realise this.

What you guys are basically saying is, "the quality of the package is worth the money". I have to say that, despite all the issues with Ip Man, the wooden dummy was sensational. That figure wasn't cheap either, nearly 200 bucks for a single figure and sod all accessories. But when I looked at it all as a package I could see where the money went. It's great to see that despite all the issues surrounding this release, folks are taking delivery and are very happy with what they see.

Their accessories/dios are actually pretty nice, nicer than their figures even; but that isn't presentation... presentation is how it's packaged... which I always felt was weak (aside from the outer design). From the couple figures I've got from EB, they had plastic trays and really lame foam protection (just a big oval, not custom like HT). Yeah it's nit-picky but their presentation always made it seem like they spent less money on it than HT. Just sayin'.

Most of the HT figures I have (some 15 or so) came with plastic tray inserts as well though. Presentation-wise I was really impressed with the HT Godfather set when I first got it. Very nice. The nicest 1/6 figure I've ever bought.

But then I got the EB WoD and it just blew me away. The whole concept of the box openning up to be a dio. Very sleek. Then I got the Kato set and it was even better! They both felt substantial - for lack of a better term. You felt like you were getting your money's worth. I haven't opened my FoF set yet, but I expect the same quality.

And I have to be honest - the quality of HT presentation has dropped in quality. Take the Ironman series. The first three were really nice. Nice sturdy display boxes inside a nicely designed sturdy sleeve.

The last few Ironman sets? The inside display boxes and the external sleeves are from the same somewhat chintzy cardboard. Far from crap, but not as nice as what they did before.

And in my opinion - nowhere near EB.

I'll put it this way: If I had to dump the display boxes in my collection to make space - I'd be reluctant to get rid of any EB boxes.

the accessories are nice but if the figure i first saw came with nothing i would have still bought it.......unfortunatly based on the photos i have seen i am left with a figure i dont even want now....guess next stop ebay
