I'm getting really excited about getting this, I don't know why but even more so than my HT DX BL, probably just because I love the GoD look more than the ETD outfits but I just had to have this from day one, definitely displaying BD. After this I really want a WOTD figure, EB or HT I just don't care :)

EB WotD is awesome. Believe me DirtyPrettyAngel.

I think the little blood stripe looks cheap. It would look better without it.

Totally agree on the blood drip. I will probably paint my own blood over it.

Edit: Not MY blood! I meant paint a new blood drip using paint. lol

That is a though question for me to answer right now as I have not yet seen the final (sales) version of this figure release standing in front of me...

I do believe that pictures can often or at least sometimes give the wrong impression - and even lie (both in a good and bad way) ! I know this from personal experience as I have tried to take a few photos of my own 1/6 figure collection, but had to give up as I am not a very good photographer and the camera I used was not suited for detailed figures. So most of the pictures I took did not came out so good and therefore I felt that they did not do any justice to what the figure was really like - which bothered me when I wanted to show others.... I also have a friend who is even a worse photographer than me who took a few photos of his Bruce Lee figure (Enterbay’s A version of “Enter the Dragon“) and they came out very bad - mostly because he did not know how to display his figure in a good way (figure stances)….

How ever I can tell you I was very impressed and had a very good impression of the two first versions of this figure release which I saw with my own eyes in the window display at the Enterbay Store when I was in Hong Kong - and I had nothing to complain about.

So I cannot really tell you my personal view until I have the figure in front of me - because I know a photography does not always tell the truth.

I see.. I have the same thought.. it was looking good at the proto pics, thats great you've seen the actual proto directly at the store! My little experience.. sometimes Enterbay's product were looking good if we see it directly on hand, just like godfather, ipman, onimusha, etc.. they're not photogenic but looks great on display.. I hope this G.O.D turns out to be the same... :rolleyes2

thanks for sharing your thought GungFu :1-1:

1) The pic from the show has overhead lighting that is diffused - which is perfect to bring out subtle details of a HS. The lighting of the pic at bottom is harsh and looks like it's from a flash - which is far from the best to show a HS.

2) The camera angle of the above is from top angled down. More natural so we see smaller eyes, more dramatic facial features. The camera for the bottom pic is up the nostrils.

Comparing the two pics is like slapping Cindy Crawford out of bed and using a polaroid to snap a picture of her and then comparing that picture to how she looks on the cover of Vogue.

Please do not talk about lighting when it is obvious you don't know a single thing about lighting.

Diffused light actually softens detail not enhance it. This is one reason why diffused lights are commonly used on commercials, and magazine shoots. It makes the actors and models look really flattering.

The proto pics looks so good even under diffused lighting is because it is the proto and have far superior detailing and paint job. Also take note that the proto doesn't have adjustable eyes hence the smaller eye.

The pic of the actual thing is not what we call harsh lighting (you can tell how hard or soft the lighting is based on how pronounced the shadows are).

It's still soft but since the lighting comes directly from the front, it makes everything looks flat and washed out. However, that picture is a more accurate representation of the actual thing than the 'mood' lighting of the prototype because you see everything clearly now.

The actual thing in hand will be slightly more detail than the washed out photo but don't expect the paint job of the proto. You will only be in for a major disappointment.

As for the eyes, camera angles or not, the final products have bigger eyes. It's the unavoidable byproduct of using adjustable eyes. Saying that it's similar to the proto is really just deluding yourself. The proto have painted eyes hence it's smaller and more natural.

Thanks for the lesson. Although I never claimed at any point to be an expert on lighting. I only know about how it looks when I myself try to photograph 1/6 figures and HS. I defy you to quote anything I've said that eludes to me being a pro.

The image from the expo was being presented as the ideal in comparison to the in-hand pic. Meaning that people preferered the details in the expo shot to the one in the in-hand. My response was to say that the expo shot is infact similarly painted as the in-hand. But the lighting in the in-hand is harsh (my term not a pro term if it is infact a pro term) because the light seems to have come from a flash and has washed out the paint details in that pic. The expo shot - the lighting isn't so apparent. I used the term "diffused" as my description of it - don't know if it's a pro term or not. I just can't tell from the photo where the light source is but it's not direct (like from a flash). So you can see the paint apps better in that pic (which everyone says is the case). And last I checked - paint apps (which was the point of my statement) don't cast shadows?

So you basically just pointed out the same thing I was trying to point out. I guess you just did it in a more "professional" way?

But I never said I was a pro like you :wave

Also: I'm well aware after collecting 1/6 since the mid-90s that the final product won't be nearly as good as the proto. Again - find a quote where I've said such a thing :lecture

It's official. My GOD figures are on their way from HK :clap

They will go to my seller on the East Coast first, then to me shortly afterwards.

Should arrive just after I get back from E3 :yess:

Okay. In order to preserve peace on this thread - I will maintain radio silence until I get the GOD figures in hand. :lecture

Next post from me on this thread will be pics and a review :wave

Can not believe a company operates like this first all the B.S. about the body, now its one redeming feature the battle damaged headsculpt has been replaced by a cartoon bruce

Man I wish with all my heart this figure was 200 dollars. I'd snag it in a heart beat, but the 320 is too much no matter how great it is. At the very least, I wish it came with two bodies and an extra pair of sneakers since you'd have enough to have two different figures each with their own weapon too.

i think for the BD HS is mostly the paint app. i still think the eyes are too big and doesnt look focus enough, but the paint app is wat put it off for me. the paint on the proto was soooo nice and realistic, but then u look at the final product, it looks cartoon-y and cheap....

Throw in another body and an extra pair of sneakers and I would've PO'd this at $330 shipped, as it was going for from a solid ebay seller a while back. But then I would've been stressing about whether the figure would show up with buggy eyes, poor paint apps, a body that can't be posed dynamically and stains and sticks to the costume. So maybe best it only came with the one body :)

I really don't understand why posters like you continue to be in this topic.

One question, please- What is the "exclusive / expo version"? A new box, jeans, a shirt and something for the camera? No extra body?

I *think* there's an extra body too.

There's an extra body? :panic:

Woops, I dropped a snow ball down here and it's going to grow...

I don't know. Just asking. :D

That's what was mentioned in an earlier posting on this thread. The special edition version (limited to 300 pcs) has an extra body - along with some other extras like casual attire, etc.

:lol I don't know either, I don't recall reading that but it would be a pleasant surprise if it were true :D

There is NO extra body in the Exclusive Beijing Exhibition set.

Please take time to read my recent post before making any assumption:

I thought I should mention that for those of you who would be interested in the exclusive Beijing Exhibition edition – limited to only 300! You can get this from Enterbay’s own Beijing dealer at [email protected] !

The price for this exclusive limited edition is US $369.99 plus shipping from China (EMS or regular mail). As mentioned before and from what I have gathered of information on this release is that it will have an additional pair of jeans, black shirt (as Bruce wore in the behind the scenes of Game of Death when not wearing the yellow G.O.D. track suit), a stand for the camera and also a unique yearbook of Enterbay’s past figures. I have not had it confirmed yet, but it might also have a unique packaging that differs from the Hong Kong release (though I am not 100% sure yet), and it might be a little heavier also (plus sending from China might cost more than from HK). I am also unsure if this will have one or two figure stands.

There is only a handful of this set left so be quick to contact this seller as most where pre-sold at the Beijing show in the beginning of May. They will have this in stock tomorrow or on Thursday ! The seller accepts PayPal payments.

I got the contact details of this Beijing dealer through Enterbay in Hong Kong and was told it was okay to forward this information in case anyone was interested !

I will have more information tomorrow, but feel free to contact Guo Bei as he is really quick to reply and his English is perfect !

The only reason I did leave this information was to help other figure collectors and Bruce Lee fans out as I heard that some of you where interested and you did not know how to get hold of this rare release. How ever I do not want any wrong information to be spread - so again: Please be sure to know before posting.

By the way Tinister, no hard feelings - I just had to make this very clear

:exactly::goodpost:

I totally agree with you, and that is exactly what I meant.

Thank you for making my point so much clearer Jengo

No worries GungFu. Thanks for clarifying about the extra body issue :hi5:

BTW: I got a free upgrade on delivery to 2nd Day - so as soon as the seller in East gets GODs - I get them roughly two days afterwards.

So I'm estimating about 7 days from HK, then 2 days more days from seller to me. So nine business days. :panic:

They should be waiting for me when I'm back from E3.

Axecutioner18: I also pulled the trigger on EB FoF set :)
