LOL! No, it's better to ignore those because we already confirmed we are getting the 53 years old Muscles from Brussels.
:cuckoo: Let whomever wants to type, waste time, type.
It makes sense, since we are getting a JCVD figure in 2013/2014, not a movie character, then welcome to this figure with respect to the walking legend.

Dude, you really need to step back and take a breath. If people aren't happy with what Enterbay is putting out, then let them express it. So their opinion is different than yours. Who cares? Besides the guy said he was probably gonna get the figure anyway. You're just coming across as a scary way too obsessed Van Damme fan.

I REALLY wanted a JCVD figure but this just doesnt do it for me. The sculpt looks off, and its not JCVD in his prime. I hope they at least revise this headsculpt and make it better. A few tweeks and it will look good.

Strange! This head sculpt impressed thousands of people (inc. artists, collectors, fans and non-fans). The only comment was about the nose.
His prime? He is still glorious! Hollywood just needs to offer him good scripts and proper roles. Van Damme and Lee are still the biggest 2 names in the world of martial arts (it is a fact -if you do some web researches- not a fanatic status by me), yet, one has RIP and the other is still kickin' @$$! LOL, on a side note, I must admit, I am only fanatic when it comes to UFO Robo Grendizer. Anyway...
Also, please read the previous posts. This is a JCVD figure, which means it's the logical thing to be done as he is now - it is not a movie character (EB doesn't have a license to a movie yet).

Yeah, I guess my opinion is pretty much useless then, seeing as thousands of people (inc. artists, collectors, fans and non-fans) were impressed by this headsculpt.

Nope. Van Damme was in his prime in the 90's, where action stars and martial arts movies etc were at their peak.
Same goes for most other action stars like Arnold and such.

So because its a "JCVD" figure, the only logic is to make him as he is now?
Care to explain the reasoning behind this logic?
I'm glad that HTs didnt use this logic when making non-movie figures, because this -

Would have to be like this -

So much gold in this post its impossible to know where to start.

I'll just say that I think Jet Li and Jackie Chan are a clear number 2 and 3 in the world of martial arts movies .... Donnie Yen as well although he isn't as known in Hollywood. I'd put JCVD at number 5 ....on a good day .... I mean he basically disappeared for a decade+ to the public at large until Expendables 2.

You are talking out of a personal point of view, but I am asking you to do some Web or media research. Van Damme is the second big name right after Lee in terms of worldwide popularity in the genre of action movies and martial arts. I won't argue with you or anybody cuz stats talk for the truth.

When it comes to collecting, personal POV is all that matters, stats don't come into play when collecting.
He may allegedly be No.2 according to 'someones' Statistics but I'm guessing that most of that is based on his earlier works, even if not, it's still irrelevant when it comes to buying a fig.

No one buy a fig based on stats on web research, you buy what you like and can appreciate, as well as enjoying a character you remember from a film you love. He's not made any of those in my opinion since the height of his career in the 90's.

I'm with some others that have said I would have preferred JCVD in his 90's films. I would like a representation that I know, I remember, and one that I could relate to a film that I enjoy, rather than showing one who hasn't done anything decent for ages....but that's just me.

Stats may say one thing, people's personal preference may say another, that's how collecting is I'm afraid.

Thanks, Sideshow Freaks

This is just a quick 'Thank You' message to the admins of Sideshow Freaks for removing all the rude or personal attack posts to keep this forum clean and civilized.
We should talk about the action figure and the megastar without accusations or personal violations and judgments.

If there is an update about the figure I'll be glad to share it with you here, but for now, most of us agree that it is just the nose which needs lil' tweaking.

Have a good day!

Van Damme = Steve Segal

I agree for 100% with you.:goodpost:

The thing is regardless I need a JCVD in my collection.
But calling him a master martial artist second to bruce lee is a bit over the top don't you think?
As in reality he is only a glorified ballet dancer and not an amazing actor.
He was in his prime in the 90's along with many other actors.
But that is not to say he is good at what he does.
As I grew up loving his films.
But I think some people are far too obsessed with him and attacking people when they say a wrong word about him is silly.

JCVD would make my top 10 but definitely not top 5.

Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen, Chuck Norris, David Carradine, Brandon Lee would all rank before him.

Would like to see a Bloodsport JCVD figure since that's the film that really put him on the map.

getting back to the figure,i think people wanted a 80's/90's JC because that's how he's best remembered.
a HT casual style could have been done (save all the movie copyrights)and I'm sure fans could have kitbashed their own figure.
really speaking with this figure you have options of
A- later unisol
B- villan EX2
C- JCVD
JC was huge in his day, then battled his demons when he faded, and now is coming back..and good luck to him.

If you go to any country in the world and you say Van Damme, people will know the name (even in countries you might not heard of) but try to go worldwide and say Tony Jaa or Donnie Yen, etc... the majority will give ya one word: "Who?"

That's pure opinion with no facts to back it up whatsoever.

Agree with Mrchris, would love to see a young JCVD b/c that's definitely how I remember him.

Bruce doesn't need ''the most talked about page'' his legendary status after 40yrs speaks for itself.(yes I'm a huge BL admirer)
but BACK to this figure....someone start that poll.....pleeeeeese:pray:
