The one strong point for me with enterbay is the sculpt and paint apps, the sculpt for me is very under par the eyes are normally the high point but here they seem badly done with no sence of life, the sculpt itself is too neutral, plus the idea of a 50 year plus civilian version is ridiculous to me i want stuff thats iconic if only to me......bloodsport with an extra battle damaged sculpt would have been nice!

Re: PERSONAL

Sadly, since no one wants to remove or edit the rude post on the link quoted above, and since I am receiving cheesy private messages with threats from persons thinking that they are "Gods of the Universe" because they can control this forum, I am out of here and a legal action will be taken against all the PMs and offending posts.
No one should be receiving harassing/ threatening messages from any other member. So If anyone is sending you such messages then by all means forward them to myself or another mod to investigate for you, if you wish.

As for the fig, I'm with those posted recently.
I would love a JCVD in one of his Bloodsport Gi's. The decision to make a 'current/ latest' look just doesn't represent the guy to me. I know about the licensing but it's a disapontment to me at least. I see him now and I see the guy advertising Coors beer, I actually didn't even recognise him when I first saw that advert. It's a far cry from the memorable looks that he portrayed in the 90's, imo.

I'm happy for those that want to get this 'current' look though.

Now, all I need is a Daniel Larusso and Mr Miyagi (both my inspiration for starting training) and I'll be in martial arts heaven.

I hope this does well regardless and hope that in the future EB can acquire the Bloodsport license b/c that would be a must have for me. :)

You don't have to be sorry.
The fact is I can handle such a post, but I have the right to reply it, right?
When I did, my polite reply was removed with a claim the guy's post is from "the past". Do you find it fair?

LOL, and do you call a post created some hours ago "past"?
I am running some sites myself with millions (not thousands) and I know how to keep it civilized. You don't go rude and tell someone "you are scary obsessed fan" just because he is a fan.

I am fed up of these cheesy posts. How many times I asked to talk about the figure and the star in a decent way even when there are different opinions but some people just enjoy being rude, like that post saying JC's HS is ridiculous because it's not the young look. Why can't he just say "I preferred if it's the young look," therefore he will not buy or buy it. Why the rude term ridiculous to a man who did not insult him? It's like if JC visits this forum tonight, he will read a post by a member telling him "your face looks ridiculous".
And by the way, I actually told JC about this forum...but now, I doubt I will direct him to this thread again as long as some people think his 53 years old age is ridiculous. What a shame and what a rude insults do we have here? It could be said really in a much polite better way...but yet, I find it pointless because I said so many times, it's OVER, we are only getting the current JCVD head sculpt. If people can't see he's still a great megastar after all the 2008 - 2013 career highlights I have posted, then, there is some problem with some people here.

I am asking for some verbal manners and respect here, otherwise I will leave this forum and will know how to remove the violating posts.

You do realise you leaving the forum really doesnt make much of a difference to anyone right?
Besides you can feel passionate about certain things and have strong opinions which you have the right to, however you shouldnt expect everyone to have the same viewpoint, rather tact or even attitude. People can make offhand remarks which sound extremely disrespectful to you but not to another person.
Consider all of these things, which Im sure you have...

Enterbay will make their figure, people will decide what they want to say about it or even the person whom the figure is based on. You cant control that, nor should you even try. Im sure JCVD knows there are enough haters as there are fans of him, if he took the trouble of trying to convert each and every hater he would certainly lose his mind - Id suggest you do the same.

Where's the love guys ?. :lol

I feel like this figure has been being teased forever. I hope we see a revised sculpt sooner rather than later and I hope a younger version will be in the pipe line.

Van Damme asked Enterbay for a current JCVD look head sculpt since he is still alive and active. It is a matter of dignity!
Also, because EB doesn't have a movie character license. So...

If we wish to see a young JCVD version, then, it probably should come from a movie. Please send request emails to Enterbay and Hot Toys, even Neca (fan demands work so many times).

It's not dignity, it's preference.

I'm willing to bet the majority of JCVD fans would prefer a younger sculpt & figure from films that put him on the map like Bloodsport as opposed to where he is today - not much of a star in the limelight.

1) It is a matter of pride and dignity to my friend Jean-Claude who I know better than those who never met him in real life and don't have an idea how much does he appreciates mutual respect. When a megastar as him gets the cold shoulder from Hollywood since the early 2000's and he makes a great comeback since 2008, that's something he should be proud of. He did that when he's in his late 40's / currently early 50's. So, here we go...

2) I am not against your wish but do you have a Bloodsport movie character license to make its figure? EB doesn't.

3) The majority of his fans on FB are happy with the current HS, please see https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...&set=a.197465085045.252645.21497365045&type=1
If you can do one of those web traffic researches you can see it was viewed by 894,464 people since 14 hrs, as we speak now.
I do not follow Twitter though.

Great comeback might be a stretch... I can understand your point, but a lot of people would like a younger version jcvd and that's fine man it's not disrespectful at all, it's still him just in his prime. Everyone gets old

You don't see people wanting the current Arnold over a younger one from in his prime

Especially when it's the first high end action figure of jcvd

This ignore feature is useless!

Dammage, Enterbay didnt have a License to make a 1/4 Scale Way of the Dragon(Return of the Dragon) Bruce Lee, yet they made this -

ETB_HD14_BruceLee_06.jpg

They couldve done the same with a Van Damme Bloodsport figure...
Just call it something like "JCVD Cage fighter".

No one is saying JC is ridiculous because he is 50 years old.
We are simply hoping for a figure of our favorite JC movie characters. We care about iconic looks in this hobby.
In the future when these guys are REALLY old, not a lot of people would want a 85 year old JC or Arnold Schwarzenegger figure, but a tonne of people would still buy their iconic 80's and 90's characters.

I suggested you send request emails to Enterbay, Hot Toys, Neca and any other companies.

As for movie licenses, you have to know that Bruce Lee's film contracts are way different from JC's. Lawyers make lots of complications regarding the usage of a character. I was the first person to create a petition to make a Bloodsport statue and Universal Soldier action figures. I did those petitions on FB and here as well...but what we have now is a late 40's/early 50's Jean-Claude Van Damme Hollywood moviestar action figure. The contract between JCVD & EB were signed only for this.

I can't do anything further now than asking for some face tweaks! I am the one who introduced EB to JCVD and without my involvement there wasn't gonna be any high-end JCVD figure today because others are so busy with milking more 'n more Iron Man marks.

What you see today is a result of my follow ups, many mistake corrections and lots of refining. So, please, gimme a break! I did my best.

it was a standard kung fu figure:rotfl, that was enterbays title.
totally agree with you.as I stated before a jcvd in his prime, dressed in casual/everyday gear could have passed for a non film and folks could have made up their own figure.
would I want a bruce lee as a 73yr old figure.....nope.
that's all the guys on here are trying to say.
but well done for contacting EB regarding a jcvd figure.

Lots of cleaning... Please ignore others who don't share your view of the world. Respect is a two-way street. Thanks.

Well thanks for making this happen...
I only hope that they listen to your requests to tweak the sculpt some more before releasing it because with a few refinements it will look great.
But sadly, from what you are saying, it seems EB is not willing to go after a younger, classic VD look, so it looks like I won't have a VD figure in my collection.
Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with a current Van Damme figure, it's just I much prefer a classic one personally.

I'm sorry but mega star and great comeback are words that should not be associated with him.
Yes he has come back and we are glad he I doing movies again.
And this is no insult to him , also it is a fact that the head sculpt is too fat and nose too big.
Just look at recent pics of him.
Nobody is insulting JCVD they are just getting the pint across.
Yes you are an enthusiastic fan , some people may argue over enthusiastic but that is there opinion , or are they not allowed there own opinion?

I bet if he had put loads of weight on like Steven seagal then he would not have wanted the sculpt made?

It is like doing a terminator figure with today's head on it , which is wrong.
