I know your indecision I had a very similar dilemma. I just ordered the mark ii and scarface war version b/c i couldn't make my mind up between the two. I'm also still on the fence about HT Jack Sparrow. I recognize that the figure is amazing but at the end of the day I'm just not that in to pirates(AT ALL).

What about Respect?

Yeah well I have BW version and was leaning more towards War seeing as I get a different costume and all. But the respect headsculpt is stunning.

yeah I chose the war version b/c to me the last scene in scarface is by far the most iconic, and if I already had the BW version that choice would be even easier.

Your making me really consider a purchase. But I do still want my MK 2.
Problem is, the war version doesn't scream Pacino to me, however the Respect does.

I agree with you on the HS, but the war one isnt bad though. I just wouldn't want to own two tony montana's in the same suit if I were in your shoes. Sound like you should go with the mark ii. My mind was made up for me when I saw a good picture of someones entire collection on here in some slick detolfs, and there was Tony Montana sticking out like a bad @$$ mofo. I knew right then he must be mine.

:lol I get that occasionally.

I guess I can always pick up the Respect head sculpt seperatly along with a complete War. But your right, I should stick with MK 2.

I won't be getting one until I get a T800. Kind of have a lot on my plate. Hot toys Keaton Batman is charging soon lol

Since ENTERBAY is so so with a lot of people I think I can afford to put it on backburner for now. I'm a bigger fan of Batman so that's a priority.

Trust me your priorities are straight with the 89 batman he is amazing, I can't stop posing him. I do think that if a collector has any interest in scar face at all they should try to pick up at least one of these enterbay figures. Lets face it as collectors we all probably have collections full of super heroes, movie monsters, and robots. A scarface I think could really add some 'cool points' to our collections not that I'm saying anyone's collections are lacking in awesomeness but I think ya'll know what I mean.

I have to stop myself from picking up '89 Bats. Must wait till the Returns version comes out.

Oh and BTW, this figure hasn't been parted out yet unfortanetly. Really want that head sculpt

:gah: I'm still undecided. Logical to go with MK 2 but the lure of these figures is very strong:monkey3
So both these cost $200 a pop and I only need the one. Then MK 2 will set be back near $280. Or I can wait till SS receives their stock and save $50. That would allow me to pick up one of these figures now and MK 2 later.

But patience is hard when your waiting on this

How much futzing is required to make this figure look as good as the proto?

I don't see MK 2 selling out too quick. It's kind of a niche thing like the MK 5.

I agree. I don't think he will sell out super fast b/c it's obvious hot toys is making things in higher production and there may be a number of collectors content with there original mark ii, but the original did once fetch $600 on ebay so I think there is more demand for it then you might think.

It may have fetched that much on eBay at one point but Hot Toys business practices doesn't seem to be the same from all the people complaining about reissues and rehashes. They may have doubled or tripled more their production volume compared to the time when originals came out.

It's evident they're looking to fulfill a demand with an adequate supply of collectibles. This time around they're probably not going to give up making money because 5 people are unhappy that their collectible has "lost" it's "value"

Buyers are probably still going to be more wary of purchases now than before.

I was upset at first, b/c yes alot of my figures had lost there value (some to a value significantly less than I paid), and I had always beleived I was safe from that happening b/c I thought hot toys had integrity about not re-issueing. After thinking about it though I understand how the whole re-issue strategy they are using now is really really easy and profitable for them and they would have to be dumb not to milk it.

I've since sold any figure that I paid alot of money over retail for (and made most of my money back). Now I'm only buying figures at retailvalue (with maybe an exception here and there) b/c I know that I can get burned now. I'm actually happy about there new strategy now because now I get upgraded versions of all the figures I could never afford before and a few that I already had.

Yeah, so a lot of customers like you might or might not jump on the MK 2 asap just because it's Iron Man. Might happen to Batman too, but who knows.

There's a ton of Batman going on this year. Not a huge loss if people miss out on DX09. Batman Returns DX should and might improve on whatever shortcomings DX09 has.

Anyhoo, Respect Ver. is 50/50 after T800. I definitely want it still. Hopefully if people part out more with their Blitzway and War versions it wouldn't be too bad to get Respect Ver with some more accessories to put on display. But like I said, this is probably not going to sell out too fast and the people picking this up to part out isn't as profitable.

Ok, I got the Enterbay Scarface respect version. I also have the Blitzway version but I can keep only one. After a short debate with my nephew, came to the conclusion that Enterbay wins. Looks more realistic, outfit looks better (except for the shoes and belt) and with glasses on Enterbay's HS looks terrific. (Enterbay glasses looks cheap, may get HT Bruce Lee's glasses) I specially like Enterbay's skin tone. He really looks like a suntan skin and not too brown as the Blitzway. Also the lips on Blitzways are too purple.
A few shots of both figures:

^^ TFS that comparison pics! The only thing I don't really like on this "Respect" version are those eyes. Why is that EB keeps on placing those eyes on the side (e.g. Leon) and not making them look straight?

But Jean Reno actually does have a lazy eye (or askew at any rate). I haven't seen one in hand yet, but based just on the pics we've all seen, the dude on the left looks like he has killed people in horrible ways, and the dude on the right looks like he might wonder down the lake and feed some ducks, or maybe call his gran, you know, see how she is today.

You are right, EB HS looks too passive, inocent. With the glasses on, he looks just relax. Blitzway expression is more agressive, no doubt. But Pacino's likeness is on Enterbay. About the eyes on the side., it works on some figures. Sometimes looking straight, makes the character like he is in a trance or paralized. Looking on one side makes him more natural and alive.
