I Have the BW figure, no doubt its a great figure and and a great first attempt at a figure by a company, but from angles it just looks like a caricature for me

The reason I'm not bugged by the exaggerated features so much is because the Montana character is pretty over the top anyhow. TBH none of the three portraits are absolutely convincing. The BW version tends toward the cartoony and the paint doesn't hold up next to the EB versions; while the EB Respect version is not just passive but almost Mona Lisa-like in its contentedness. The War version is an interesting expression that ought to have been angrier - but that's the one EB got the approval for so that's the one we get.

While I enjoy having BW Montana on my shelf, I'm a little bummed because the EB versions show up the flaws in the BW version but without offering - for me - a better representation of the character. The more I look at all of these the less sure I am which I'd buy if I had none of them to begin with.

It's actually quite a funny situation... I don't remember this happening EVER!

The most perfect Tony Montana figure, split into 3... by two different companies...

EB respect version - superior paint job, but EB cheaped out on a BLACK belt instead of white because they had black already with the War version. The shoes are purple! and what about the pimp gun holster that the BW came with... needless to say I ordered all of these things for my respect version, including Bruce lee 70's sunglasses that don't fit.

IMO if you didn't buy any of them but parted one together... you could make a serious bad ass Tony Montana

:goodpost: :exactly: well said Lejuan. Felt the same way when EB's versions showed up. :thud:

How exactly Bruce's sunglasses don' fit? Too big, too small. Can you post a picture with the HT glasses. Maybe it can be modded.
The EB glasses look cheap but with those on, Tony's face looks just as a regular normal expression sculpt. The glasses really help hiding the inocent look.

sure... I can't take any pics right now but I can tell you that:

1) the arms are too short, if you used a staple to embed in each arm, you could mod them to fit

2) they don't look good. They don't fit the style of Tony

3) A much better idea would be to get t-1000 sunglasses, paint them black and cut the arms to the desired length.

But Jean Reno actually does have a lazy eye (or askew at any rate). I haven't seen one in hand yet, but based just on the pics we've all seen, the dude on the left looks like he has killed people in horrible ways, and the dude on the right looks like he might wonder down the lake and feed some ducks, or maybe call his gran, you know, see how she is today.

I know he has but that doesn't mean they can't make his vision on the HS looks straight. :dunno Anyway, can't do anything about it anymore..I have a Leon and he's great! :wink1:

Answer: wait for the HT DX version.

Yes yes... HT will make their own version of everything that is already on the market done by other companies.

No worries, at this rate, they will be released in a ten year window after five to seven reiterations of Iron Man and Batman movie masterpieces.

I'm still waiting for Sucker Punch, Michael Jackson, City Hunter and Space Pirate releases.

As a Batman fan, I'll probably see TDKR first at this point. Hopefully not though...

Hey guyz just so you know he did wear a black belt with that oufit during the scene that this figure is based on.^_^

Just rewatched the Godfather. Wow. Forgot how good it really is.
And now I can say honestly that the Respect head better suits Michael Corleone than it does Tony Montana. But that doesn't mean I don't like it.
Hell, if I wanted to I could make a kitbash Michael.

So yeah, after clipperking's review and watching the Godfather I'm really thinking about picking up the two pack. I can imagine the detolf display now. A whole shelf dedicated to Scarface. Oh how sweet that would be!

TheClipperKing, really a excellent reviews of the two EB figures !Really complete and lots of great detailed info, tips and the comparison with the Blitsway !

...but please stop the fo-ckin' swearing mate !!! Fo-ckin' ell, for fo-ck's sake !!! (joking... hehe...)

great review as always ClipperKing. I agree that the war version looks far better in hand than he does in pics(just got mine today:yess:). Sorry if this was covered in the videos, but are the glasses for the respect version as difficult to put in as they are for the war version???? I love this figure, but the glasses are so ridiculous.:cuckoo:
