Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

But we're getting Begins Batman first, right? So. . .not so much a complementary piece to Joker.

However, it's not Begins Batman, it's the first suit that he used in The Dark Knight, so, again, complementary pieces.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I'd say a BR Joker and Begins suit Batman would be more complimentary figures since that's how we see them first in the movie and TDK suit Batman and Purple suit joker would be complimentary for the rest of the film

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

He was never in a scene with Joker in that suit.

So? They were both the two most iconic characters to come out of that film. Batman is still Batman, regardless of what he's wearing, and they're both from the same license. Therefore, complementary pieces. By your logic, the two Scarfaces aren't complementary pieces because they weren't in a scene together (unless Tony Montana had an evil, well, eviler, twin brother lol).

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I agree. People buying Joker and Bats at once should get a discount, it seems to be a common EB thing to offer multi-buys when a character is related to another in some way, and despite Batman not seeing Joker in this outfit it doesnt really matter, even if they never met in the whole movie they are still from the same movie

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Everything is pointing to Batman being released way before Joker and given the price difference between the 1/4 scale figures and the 1/6 scale figures it makes sense for EB to have a bit of a gap between the releases to maximise the possibility of people getting both (which imo lesser's somewhat if they were both released at the same time)

I just think there is one, and only one Batman figure that makes sense as a "complement" to Joker. If you took a poll of how many people posed their Begins Bats with Joker, I suspect you would find there weren't that many (unless they just didn't have the other Batman at all, or unless they posed all their Batman figures together). Folks can pose whatever figures they like together, but does a Hoth Han Solo make sense as a "complementary" figure to Boba Fett, since they were in the same movie? They never shared a scene and had nothing to do with each other in those respective outfits. Would future Kyle Reese be complementary with Tech Noir Terminator? I don't think so. It's a completely different logic to want two versions of the same character on display together. But if you are going to be talking a protagonist and antagonist only on a display, to complement one another, presumably you would want them wearing outfits they wore in scenes together.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

looking forward to seeing this revealed in full, i think i may actually skip Hot Toys 1/6 in favor of this if it's done nicely

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

The thing is, however, that it is clearly Bill's intention for these to be complementary pieces. They haven't released the other suit he wore in TDK, and all Bill can talk about is how great the two look together, and how they do not intend to release his other suit any time soon. Another thing is that these characters have deeper roots than Han Solo and Boba Fett or Kyle Reese and the T-800. These are not their primary forms, and there is a certain iconography that is associated with the characters where Batman and The Joker are instantly recognized as being complementary to each other. Am I saying have Heath Ledger on display with George Clooney? No, but the fact of the matter is that these two figures have enough in common that they can be considered complementary. Frankly, though, this entire debate is based on something so subjective that it can't truly be decided, but I do think that it was Bill's intention for these pieces to complement each other.

They had better. It would be crazy to drop $800 on two gigantic toys at once. I think if they were both $700 or $600 as a pair it would be a no-brainer. Then you're reaching Hot Toys price territory for larger items. The size does bother me, namely since I don't have a place to safely display them without collecting dust. If I do invest in these, I'll have to get a new detolf cabinet and not put in one of the shelves to accomodate their height.

Of course they want customers to think they're "complimentary pieces", they want them to buy them both! :lol

What's Weibo Bill gonna say, "BETMEN LOOK BETTER, YOU BUY JUST HIM"? Of course not.

While I prefer the Begins suit this figure keeps it from being "complimentary" or compatible with the Joker. That's the TDK suited Batman's job.

My thoughts exactly. Begins Batman and Bank Robber Joker compliment each other very well for the simple fact that it's their "pre" meeting looks. Where they're both starting out.

I have a shelf that has Begins Batman, Bank Robber Joker and Harvey Dent that depicts this "idea". The one below it is TDK Batman, Clown Joker and Two-Face.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

We don't even know if they're going to make TDK suit Batman, so, if and when that happens, I'll agree with you, but for right now, complementary, my dear Watson.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Honestly, I don't even know why we're having this argument. The fact is: Bill wants us to buy both, he should offer a little thank you to those who do.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

What are going to be his metal items?

I want him to have a boot knife, grenade launcher and bow just to tell people how bad ass this Batman is. :lol
