Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

To be honest, from what we've seen of Enterbay's 1/4 Arnold, I think 1/4 Batman will be pretty close but with a slimmer body.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

No way, it's the OC Batman. I just see it on OSB's Facebook page & then came straight here. I'm so happy because this is the suit I really wanted in this scale. I'm definitely buying this no matter what :yes

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Really happy they went with the OC, but not, because I'll be that much more tempted to buy it.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I was kinda hoping they would do the kevlar armor from TDK because of the HT OC v2 but this is just as good as I am a bigger fan of the begins suit. I guess there's just more incentive to display the Bale sculpt in harness from HTs if this suit turns out magnicent, barring that the sculpt may or may not be superior. :p

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

It's much easier to make something in 1/4 that 1/6.

No it's not. It needs more detail, the larger it gets.
Or are you just posting random things in this thread as well?
Butters, you had better stop with the post bumping.:lol

You've been following me around all day with these inane comments... :rolleyes2

The bigger something is, the easier it is to apply details...

You're wrong. This is something that's even been stated by many of the sculptors here who work for Sideshow. Often times, to ensure smaller pieces get the deserved details, they're sculpted larger and then shrunk to 1/6 scale.

Thats not true Butters. The bigger it is the MORE detail that needs to be added, it's closer to 1/1 scale so needs to be more accurate than 1/6th scale. But fabrics and materials are still not at the correct scale, so it's quite difficult and not as forgiving as either 1/6th or 1/1. Maybe you should mail BobbyC about his 1/1, his 1/6th and his 1/3 Ledger jokers and ask him?

Butters, I have much better things to be doing than "following you around". More like you have been posting ____ in every thread I go into, trying to bump your post count.

Thats not what we are talking about NAM. It's not just the sculpt, it's the fabric and materials needed to work at 1/3rd and 1/4th scale. You can't use 1/1 supplies, you can't use 1/6th supplies. Yet the finished article is not as forgiving as 1/6th, it should look substantially better.

Not disputing the headsculpt scanning and shrinkage. You are completely right about that sir.

What I was trying to tell young Butters was that the larger the object the more work/detail will be required.
It's not easier than 1/6th, it has a whole different range of problems unique to it's scale.

awesome that it's the OC Bats. Figured since they showed the cowl a few months back. Definitely can't wait to see more

as for detail in 1/6 vs 1/4, from my own experience, I say that 1/6 is definitely more forgiving to some degree in terms of likeness/detail than 1/4. in 1/4 it is easier to add those necessary details b/c of a larger canvas to work on so to speak. BUT it's also easier to mess up on the likeness, overdoing detail or not doing enough detail. Each format, as Rory has said, comes with its own amount of pros and cons. I haven't decided on which format I've liked working with since I've only been working on one 1/4 piece for a short time

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Wouldn't the ease of the scale be completely dependent upon said sculptor? Some sculptors flourish in the larger scales because their eye can catch those small details that make fans gush, they can add all of those small tidbits that could get lost within the smaller scales because they'd be missed when scaling the head, where likewise those who work primarily on the smaller scales have an eye for looking at something so small and pulling those details perfectly or the ones necessary to pull of the sculpt.

While SSC does go big and scale back I think just the customizers here have shown that some really nail the smaller scales and start at that small of a size while some hit the larger pieces without fail.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I think the difficulty of sculpting at various scales probably comes down to the sculptor and what he/she is used to or excels at

What is undeniable though is that the larger the scale, the more potential for the piece to look that much more realistic because material constraints start disappearing

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I expect the same quality as their Arnold T-800.

Metal gadgets (Utility Belt, Batarang), leather boots and screen accurate cape.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Looking at how fast EB is producing (or should I say, lack of teaser pics) is it safe to say that we are gonna get this this Dec?

How was the turn around time for T800? They were announced the around the same time?

They should take their time designing this.

Metal batarang, gun,bomb,gauntlet blades. Mmmmmm

And a large high quality cape like those custom velvet ones on eBay.

The want for this is strong.
