Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Your assumption proves our point.

:rotfl:rotfl :exactly: :lecture

I duno, looks like a huge Enterbay hatefest since most people buy Hot Toys stuff.

I'm assuming the left one is Enterbay since the neck and head are one piece.

I'm expecting a more detailed head sculpt of Christian Bale if Enterbay is doing an unmaskable 1:4 Batman.

you should watch the godfather....the old guy in the beginning is Don Vito Corleone...if you think that the EB version looks like Brando you havent paid any attention to the film.

The problem is you're comparing prototype shots. That full body side-by-side is accurate (I owned both the EB and HT Godfather figures). EB's finished product wound up looking MUCH different than the prototype, and while HT's looked much different as well, theirs was an improvement. HT produced Don Vito Corleone, EB produced his Spanish half-brother, Don Frito Cornholio. This is my point with EB. They really need to cinch the huge gap between prototype and production. Otherwise, it's not even really a competition, especially at EB's gougingly higher prices.

:goodpost: the Proto looks better than the production and the production...i dont know what happened but it got so much worse. thats a serious problem that if EB want to play they need to step their game up.

:lol

Some of you have no idea how the business world operates.

totally agree...and all EB would need to do would be put out a better product...im not a HT fanboy, but right now they have the superior product. :lecture

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Getting angry because one company wants to put their competition out of business is what's childish. I don't think there's anything unsavory or impractical about HT's announcement. I think if anything, it should put EB on notice and force them to improve the end product. I know it's beating a dead horse, but when you look at the improvements HT achieved from proto to finished product on the DX02, and compare that with EB's GoD which wasn't even remotely close to what we saw with the prototype it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of middle-roading collectors just looking for good figures and forces the fanboys in uber-defensive, fantasyland mode. We've seen this with just about every release the two companies have put against each other. We saw it with Godfather and no doubt see it again here with the upcoming Batman figures.

But as I said, in this particular case, and Terminator, EB shoved HT and now that HT's shoved back, all the EB fans are crying foul. That's pretty douchy. Let EB defend itself with the end product.

:goodpost::exactly: Amen to that.

Exactly. I have the EB 1/4 T-800 on preorder. I ordered it because I honestly think its better than the HT's version. Point being, I will buy from whomever wants to impress me more. I have no brand loyalty.

i typically don't either when i comes to EB, HT and Medicom. But I usually do prefer SS products over other companies:monkey3

I agree with this, I undersatnd HT wanting to counter their rival in the figure market and in doing so, they will also be competing with SS pf's. The problem HT has, is competing with themselves sometimes becase their bread and butter is 1/6. We already know EB is doing OC Bats first, I think it would be wise for HT to take advantage of knowing that and start their line off with a TDK suit.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

I think competing with each other is fine 1/4 EB vs 1/4 HT will only make the products better.

But Hot Toys are doing the exact same license that EB has already announced, they could've done other licenses, but they chose to undercut Enterbay, before Enterbay got the products out.

Enterbay probably thought they couldn't compete with Hot Toys 1/6 TDK line so they said 'lets do something a bit different', and Hot Toys replied with an 'oh no you don't' attitude.

Makes me think of a scenario...

Kid A is playing with Kid B, Kid A kept losing and thought he'd try something else and left. Then Kid B followed him and did the same thing just to spite him - bully mentality.

It may be good business, but it's still an underhanded practice.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Holy crap, almost 39 pages of every post with a HT reference in it. Also when did this become a godfather thread?
Go to the 1/4 scale HT TDKR thread freaks.

true, but that doesnt mean that HT is going to make a OC Bats and a BR Joker, and if EB puts out a great OC Bats, it would be pointless for HT to put out a great 1/4 OC Bats when they can make tons of money on a TDK version. They can both do 1/4 pieces and both flourish, but your right that HT could take away EB's potential to do multiple figures instead of just 2 from Batman.

It looks like EB and HT will be racing each other to new licenses and whoever gets them first may win out, we'll have to wait and see. There's more than enough room for both because HT is still putting most of their focus on the 1/6 market while EB looks to be transitioning to just 1/4.

You have that backwards, bub. :wink1:

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

He's probably referring to the fact that Hot Toys isn't doing the same license in 1/4 because they are doing The Dark Knight Rises, which Enterbay is not.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Does it really ____ing matter? Realistically whomever does the best Batman in 1:4 will get my cash. EB is doing TDK so they'll be the only place to get a Joker or a Two-Face where as HT is the only place to get a Bane or Catwoman (if either go that in depth). It really isn't a Jets vs. Sharks thing. What's next you all are going to do next throw on CAPS LOCK and rumble? :lol

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Not until they announce the TDK license or unless they show up in TDKR. Not that they'll never do them but at first I think like they've done in the past they'll stick to the current and then go back. That way they can see EB's and try and out do it.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Just like they did to poor Takara Batman.

Re: ENTERBAY - 1/4 The Dark Knight

Whatever floats your boat.if you prefer the dc direct version that's your right.I prefer enterbay,I'm not asking anyone to buy it for me so why does anybody care who spends money on what.my brothers think I'm crazy fo spending 2 to 3 hundred dollars on a "doll" but that's what I prefer to do.they will never see the logic in it just as I will never think hot toys is better than enterbay.
