Some people on ebay are trying to get $350-$400 for this monstrosity. They're even more criminal than Eternal.
Sellers from china, price jack up in local market because every local store sold out of it

Two different world

I guess you can look at it as a $150 clothing pack since the sculpt is more of less useless. Slap a second Mars sculpt on this and it should be good enough if you want this look on display.

I wonder how easy it would be to hair this.
I remember premier toys had a rubber sculpt with plugged hair wasn't bad with futzed etc.

Sculpt is probably more of a bouncy ball material rather than silicone. Definitely going to add some gloss gush to those teeth.

As mentioned if all else fails it's a clothing set with potential especially at the price point.

Premier's Immortan Joe was the one done like this. You can see the hair plugged in on the side of his soft plastic head.

(The photos I took of him trigger my OCD because his mask shifted!)

Penguin's trouble is that with his bald pate there's no hiding the hair implants. You could hide them with his hat, except they messed that up as well. There's no simple solution apart from waiting a couple of years to use one of Mars' spare sculpts, as davejames suggested.

After looking, I guess some penguins had the helmets and some didn't. Although the audience penguins mostly seemed to be wearing them.

Probably something really easy to make and lots of fun to add. I can see @davejames doing this, along with a crafty base.

While there's now a strict helmet policy, back then the NHL rules had a grandfather clause that allowed players who had gone without helmets previously to continue skating without them if they wished. That applied to all teams, including the Penguins. :chase

Me in the past 24hrs:

Denial - I think they will be able to match the prototype pretty closely this company with a dodgy record. My first unlicensed figure will be a great addition.
Anger - What is that? it is not great. Actually they have made pure trash. Will never buy 3rd party again.
Bargaining - No it is the photos and lighting and lack of posing that is making it bad. Its not as bad as they are showing it surely.
Depression - Do I cancel and wait two years for Mars? My plans of having this character finally are ruined and my life has no meaning still
Acceptance - Having slept on it, while not great, it is actually not all trash, there are redeeming features. I can make this work plus would be a fun project to work on. Plus what a good story for the children in years to come. Now to go about ordering the SooSoo Mr Freeze.....

What a fun ride this figure is turning out to be.

I'm still in the anger stage myself.

I haven't ruled out going back there myself 😀

The whole thing is really disappointing but I am not ready to give up just yet.

The head and hat are the real areas of concern to me. The hair is workable to improve. A repaint is out of the question with my skill levels but I am confident I can make some improvements to it.

Everyone has their own standards of course but I think his outfit looks decent, the plastic boots are no different to the plastic shoes on my DX08, and the penguins and umbrella are fine. Some extra padding will go along way too.

All that combined with my current cabinet lighting and set up should give me something worth keeping.

I'm looking forward to work on this. I see you turning this around. I also see you making the little Penguin helmets with the little curly wires and eye piece.
I dunno. If it was just one or two things that need correcting I'd jump right into it. But there are just sooo many issues to address...

I like projects and this one is most definitely a project, but how much time and money plays a part too. Kit's assurance and connection to Mars makes me want to skip this and wait for one with less work and money.

Agreed, Mars would definitely be the safest option for this. With them having multiple Batman lines in the works, it would be shocking to let one of them drop as drastically as this, tainting their reputation and trust in the rest of the line.

Since it can’t get much worse I might almost be tempted to mess with this figure more than I normally would. Really don’t know what I’m doing though. :lol
