Looks like you've got the perfect mix in your relationship :duff

have you taken pics of your collection and the bases? say you have a mega rare item and you know if you put if up for sale it would go for a high amount, how do you prove that to the insurance if there are no examples about ?

I've never had an insurance claim that they questioned me on, so I don't know. I would have to prove how much I could get for it I suppose. I don't think I have anything that would be worth a ton of money alone. Maybe all of it or most all of it, but not one item. Nothing that they'd probably question me if I told them the replacement cost for.

Yes I do actually! I would love to network here in the AZ but I frankly dont trust anyone. If someone saw my collection they might mention it to someone and who knows how many people would know what kind of stuff I have.

I have no fears, hell I wouldn't mind it actually, i'm insured up the ass and well maybe i'd get my social life back on track too :D

I'm sure if I was ever robbed my wife would be the mastermind behind it :lol

I am more afraid that my collection will get trashed during an earthquake; my dad recommends using museum putty, but I am afraid that will ruin the PF's base.

Quakes are exactly what I worry about more than being robbed honestly. I use Museum Wax Kibishii and I'll be honest it can be a pain to get off the base if it's been there awhile. I looked at the instructions it came with and they recommend using fishing line or dental floss to dislodge the statue. And as far as the residue left on the base is concerned, it says to use a cloth or mineral spirits. I honestly don't know what mineral spirits are though, and if it would harm the base or not.
I recommend Quake Putty over the Wax.
It sticks very well, but pulls right off of bases and shelving without residue. Just like Silly Putty. :lecture

I'm housebound anyway so I doubt they would ever get stolen as I never leave here and I'm on the 4th floor so unless someone who can scale 40ft is gonna try, I doubt anyone will be coming through my windows. :lol

I should really get them insured for damage purposes though if nothing else.
Its just something ive not got round to, I guess thats cos i've not had my collection displayed, but that will hopefully be changing soon :rock so I may need to look into it.
x :peace

Only close friends see my collection, due to my fear of theft. Even than, any pics are for their eyes only. Also, i show you collectors, which in hindsight is probably not that smart.
