Everything Transformers that isn't G1 sucks

I only saw season 1 of the animated series but it is awesome. I am primarily a G1 fan but they definitely put way more thought into the new animated series. I think the visual style puts a lot of people off who would otherwise appreciate the storylines and characterizations.

I like that there are multiple flavors, though. Even Bay's dumbassery. Once I got over the rank stupidity of them I was able to enjoy them for what they are.

:huh I know lots of people who think the Animated series was awesome. The figures are so cool it's almost shocking.

The QC on many of them was terrible, especially the joints which were horribly loose.

The only ones I've kept are,

Leader Class Megatron
Voyager Prime
Deluxe Blurr
Activators BB

I did want Arcee and Rodimus but Hasbro UK decided not to bother releasing Arcee so I imagine Rodimus will be the same and I'm not paying import prices for something I only have a slight intrest in.

I think one of those indie companies is working on a G1 style Arcee (I'm sure it's beenmentioned in this thread but once again, Yo is late to the game). Then we can all get ripped off together. :D

You speak of the Impossible Toys Arcee ( I know 'cos I made a post about it :) )

If that lives up to the promise of the 3D models on their website then the lack of an Animated one in my collection won't matter at all as I'd much sooner have something that's more like the G1 character that will fit in with my main display of Classics/Universe toys.

In fact I'm planning a "Class of '86 display consisting of,

Classics Ultra Magnus with the City Commander armor
FansProject Warbot ( Springer )
Henkei Hot Rod with FansProject Protector upgrade ( Rodimus )
Impossible Toys Arcee
Generations Blurr
iGear's mini MP Optimus Prime
MP Grimlock ( scale is perfect as he towered over everyone else in the G1 cartoon. )

Nice. I will use your lineup for reference. I'm just dipping back into robot badassery after getting tired of my 1/6 man dolls. :lol

I think you have summed it up the best. The series animation is not to everyone's taste but the writing and the storytelling was second to none for Transformers Animated. I would gladly see a season 4 for Animated. I even loved the theme. It actually sounds familiar...

It was. It was really bad....an abortion some might say. (me :p)

I hope...with every last fibre of my being....that the next Transformers cartoon is as far of a departure from TFA as the laws of physics can allow.:monkey5

Abortion? _____ please. Abortion would be Revenge of the Fallen.

What is that supposed to mean?

I think I meant it as "you are a real piece of work". And yeah sarcasm works...check this out. "You're right having racist step & fetch it characters in Transformers 2 was a great idea!" YEAH!!! :D See? No.

lol, people still think skids and mudflap were racist. Get a life dude.
Why dont you take your retarded, teen-titans-formers, cancelled after 3 seasons cartoon and keep it to yourself, and i'll keep my "racist", hugely succesful and popular film franchise to myself.
Deal?

Looks guys, can't we just get along and agree that both the new "Animated" show and movie sucked donkey balls? :peace

As thread title says--G1 or bust. There are other threads here to talk about that Pokeman-looking cartoon and the movie where giant, indecipherable lumps of metal piss on John Turturro.

As much as I like the movie design style I still prefer G1 or to be more accurate G1 influenced toys eg,

Classics/Universe 2.0/Henkei/Generations
BT/Alternators
Alternity
Masterpiece
3rd party stuff like City Commander or Warbot.

I also buy a few reissues but in general the newer stuff is more appealing due to the added detail and articulation.

As far as the cartoons go, I own the G1 Animated Movie on DVD but that's it. I'm not bothered about owning the rest of G1 or any of the other series that followed as I would likely only watch them a couple of times and that'd be it so it wouldn't be worth the money.

Im pretty much the same, except i only like BB and CJ from the Alternity line and i think the rest are rubbish, but i ADORE the movie stuff (only characters from the films. The non-screen character stuff im not bothered about eg: mindwipe, bludgeon etc)

I also own the G1 movie on dvd (the ultimate remastered version, tin case etc), and the two movies (2-disc transforming dvd case editions).

I like G1 but i dont own the box set as i too think it would be a waste of money, considering ive already seen most of them and have no real desire to re-watch them as im not of the mind set that G1 is the be all end all of transformers.

I collect SOME G1 toys but i dont go out of my way to buy them as the following usually takes priority:
Masterpiece,
Alternators,
Classics,
Universe,
Movie.
I plan on owning all of the WFC stuff and as many of the generations toys as possible.
Yet im told im not considered a "true fan" apparently...

Forgot to mention I'll be getting the WFC toys & game too, Bumblebee in particular will be a great companion piece to the Henkei version.
