I didn't post in that thread on OSW because I didn't want to get into a direct argument with the Soldier Story people since I'm a bit of a coward I'm posting here :)

Triad has been a bit iffy. Their communication is not particularly good, I have tried emailing them several times and never have gotten any emailed responses. They also consistently miss stated release dates for products. A lot of the "DX" sets, as pointed out in that thread on OSW, are of questionable legality. They produce heads and outfits that are clearly inspired by real people and characters from films. This is by no means unusual in the 1/6 market or even the collectable market as a whole, but still it's worth mentioning.

Triad for me is also hurt by a particular person who posts on their forums as well as some others who is a pretty horrible person online. This person is totally unrelated to Triad but still... they leave a bad taste in my mouth.

I mention all this to illustrate that I am not above criticizing Triad and feel like most individuals as well as companies they are not without their faults. There is a difference, to me, between Triad's faults and what it appears Soldier Story is doing (and what we know) they have done. I also don't trust SS's comments based on what I have seen from them in the past as far as stealing other people's designs and the quality of their products.

All good points, Dedguy. I had my own reservations about the legality of figures "inspired" by other licenses. But what it came down to for me is that the production runs they do are typically low enough to compare to what customizers have been doing for years. I know that's a very grey area, and respect that other people don't see it that way.
I have no experince w/ S.S. so I can't comment on them or their product. I've recently joined the Triad forum and I'm really enjoying their products. My experience has been very positivie with them. But obviously I have no better idea about this situation than anyone else.
Hopefully this gets resolved and the truth will out.

yeah I have yet to ever get a response from Triad since they have opened for business.

Agreed. Triad is a great company, they deserve to have this to themselves until it is released. They do quality work. I just got a Neo from them today and it is STELLAR. The headpaint alone is amazing, best I have ever gotten from a company. Better than I could hope to accomplish as well.

I want this company to go far, I know they can.

I agree completely DA. If I had a criticism it would be communication. That said Customdawg is a regular on their forum and personally takes up issues raised there. I got no idea how many staff - but poor communication is not uncommon among small startups.

Release dates have improved alot. I think alot of the original delays revolved more around legal than product issues (but there was issues with the factory in China).
