I actually like them both, but TMP is better than TFF. I like some aspects of The Final Frontier though. There are some fun character moments with Kirk, Spock, and McCoy (the opening sequence obviously).
100% agree

Forgot to leak another info about TMP. Admiral Kirk and Kolinahr Spock will be sold as Pair figures. I might offer individual figures but will be at a higher much higher price level and will take 9 months or more to deliver while the pair version will deliver within 2 months after presale. (This Spock is V1.0, the production version is 2.6)

Again, rough and terribme paintup as usual. (Anyone noticed I have been making sure protos are less attractive comparing to production?)
Haven’t seen anyone else respond to this - why is it you do that? I had thought that like most 1/6 it was simply the difference between the prototype and production figures?
Star Trek 5 had that incredible scene where Sybok shows Spock and McCoy their pain, and Kirk refuses because he wants and needs his pain! The poor quality of TMP has been discussed for 43 years and will continue to be discussed.
There’s also the fact that V for all its faults, to me at least, was the most TOS like in both story and production design and similarly to TMP is the only other film where they “went where no one has gone before”.

I’d love to see a Kirk wearing the Captains Bomber Jacket made.

See you can't keep taking shots at QmX.

They fumbled the license, but you have it now. It's time to move on and pave new ground. Q is great though I haven't preordered him since I prefer a captain's uniform version. But is it too much to ask for a booth where even half the bridge crew are on display?

Because QmX were able to do that once, even though they weren't released it was amazing to see Riker, Geordi, Worf, Data and Picard in a row.

What QMx tried to do is what people wanted. They just can managed to.

I proposed the same business plan but they didn't use it. That's why they continue to go downhill.

Those samples you have seen was my work and i paid for them myself. I was forcing QMx to do what was needed.

Is understandable collectors have zero knowledge what's going on behind the scene.

If this is so easily done, it must have done already.

Like I mentioned, without a production, we wouldn't last more than 1.5 years (we are only 5% of QMx)

We are able to produce so many great figures when we are in the worst position among ALL 1/6 producers, and people still expect more?

Appreciate what's available now, because it was supposed to be “nothing.”

I might be the person you are thinking or I might not be. We were going to try to meet up when you were in NY but I was in FL at the time so it didn’t work out. If you are talking about the “something” that I think you are talking about it’s okay I didn’t want to bug you because you have had your hands full and the last thing I wanted to do was bug you.
Someone in my team passed away.... I have been in this rabbit hole for passed 8 months..... and have been avoiding to think about him... and hiding myself in my work.

We spent days and nights discussing the head sculpts that we want.to do...

1/6 Trek can never be done without his help.... he was the only person who put out hundreds of hours to push me up to this level.

What you want can never be done now....

Shipping is difficult too. Everyone is all over the world....

I understand everything else you said but this. You handicapped sport?

Cutting to the chase: Are we getting any militaristic aliens at some point (Andorians, Hirogen, Jem Hadar, Gorn, Breen, Species 8472) or is it just a human fest and some named characters?

No pressure, I just want to know if watching this space is going to be worth my while as an alien collector.

I also want 1/6 scale aliens. 😁👍🏼

WOW!! I'm away on shore leave for a couple of days and this thread explodes!

There are some amazing reveals, teases and bits of information to digest.

Quick Points:

- Love the idea of 2-packs for certain figures. If it rushes production and saves some money, even better!
- Admiral Kirk looks good and if the production sculpt is even better, then even better!
- I can't wait to start seeing TOS and TNG figures being announced. Those are my main ST interests and can't come soon enough.
- Glad to hear that we'll be notified early on to the pre-orders. I don't want to miss any.

Finally, Thank you, Nanjin, for the "Star Trek 1/6 museum" line. Can't wait to see what is beyond our current sector...

We couldn't handle the demand. That's how this got started. I need less customers in presale... i have my reasons for this, and is working.

2ndly, we don't have time to do Maximize sales with the Best Samples and wait forever for production to start.

3rd, I have strong confidence people will change their mind when the figures are released.

4th, 80% of our prototyping and production people are 1st time in 1/6. Their skills improve as we move forward. Shouldn't be difficult to see from FD Data to MSpock. We are improving on every figures.

Lastly, we do our own production. We have a prime Directive. Improve any figure before a point of no return.

Sisko is a good example, we were 1/3 way done, and I pulled the entire project off the schedule and moved EMH and MSpock up. We reproto'd Sisko because there could be improvements with Sisko. The current Sisko is miles away from what we could have released last year. Only we can and willing to do such a thing. Other companies will just move on with it.

These are the reasons why all my productions including those from QMx have this characteristics of Productions edge our Preorder prototypes.

EXO-6 only utilizes maybe less than 20% of what normal 1/6 would do.

I mean you guys can't see EXO-6 is almost totally different from most 1/6 companies that you have ever knew? We are doing mostly 180s from other companies and you can judge the differences yourself.

Totally understand.

Really, really sad to hear that someone on the team passed away. I hope his/her family and those close are doing okay. Real people will always be more important than figures. Just knowing part of the story of the people behind the figures adds so much more to them for me.

On a side note it is really neat being able to point to ST figures pre-QMX, QMX and EXO and tell me kids, wife (although she is probably tired of it by now) and friends that I know the person that made them. My kids know your story pretty well now including the ultimate goal of the orphanage.

Very sorry to hear about this, nanjin.

I love the idea of the two pack and I selfishly hope that it being a two pack keeps it up for presale just a little bit longer so I can make sure I get one.

Having it shipped out 2 months after ordering is crazy fast and fantastic! Hot Toys is getting to the point where you order it, forget about it and then over a year later Sideshow sends an email saying your card will be charged soon which reminds you that you ordered the figure.

Hopefully we can see some WOK stuff soon. I think WOK Kirk and Spock will end up being my two favorite figures of my entire collection across all properties, scales, mediums, etc. Hopefully the top tier version of Kirk includes the away jacket.

Well this thread certainly got very busy!

Love the idea of the TMP combo pack with Kirk and Spock. Those were both must haves for me anyway so it'll be cool to get them both at once.
They have minimal accessories, so we can push the msrp down even further.

First rate Kirk Spock head sculpts (some don't like them they can wait for twok or tos), fast delivery, iconic enough to be their own collection (again some will disagree). Even they have the minimal items, I have successful added a very very unique items to this release to make it further its OOAK status (one of a kind)

“Nanjin's School for the Gifted Youngsters.” 😊 He recommeded this name, and I will use it.
