Compare us with other producers. Do not compare us with custom paint. Is 100% unfair to compare us with custom paintup.
There is absolutely no way I could afford custom paint jobs on my figures. Well at least custom paint jobs by quality painters.

I think it is fair to compare EXO’s paint quality with other 1/6 manufacturers and when you make that comparison overall I think their paint quality has been great especially when you factor in that the company is only a few figures in and the price point is on the very low end of the 1/6 market. In my opinion Data, Mirror Spock and Picard can go toe to toe with any of the 1/6 companies out there and Janeway is not far behind. She is proudly displayed in my collection and does not feel out of place at all.

Also Davejames, great job on the repaint. Don’t feel bad sharing it. I love seeing people’s skills.

No. Nothing relate to the quality. Remember my employees are first time painters. They are doing the best on any paintup.

WE DO NOT SELL INFERIOR FIGURES.

WE DO NOT SHOW PAINT UP THAT WE CANT PAINT.

Do not accuse us of trading the best we can do with speed.

This place is really toxic. No wonder no producers will want to participate.

You need find custom figures producers. We are not custom figure house. Wrong place.
All I know is that I love what you and your team do! You create the best Star Trek figures on Earth.

I think what Nanjin and his team have accomplished in the timeframe is amazing. Looking at the range of figures and the breadth of shows they have covered is an incredible feat and at a price-point that still seems reasonable in these current times. I have yet to purchase one since I'm holding out for TWOK and Kruge, but from the unboxing vids and the Tested interviews they seem to hold their own amongst offerings from companies that have been producing toys for years. Are they going to please everyone? Nope. Don't buy them if they don't meet your standards. Personally these figures represent the best Trek offerings we could hope for. Keep up the great work @nanjin :)

Wow….after seeing what Janeway COULD have been I am feeling a little hesitant to continue buying all these guys. I fully understand the constraints Exo-6 is under, but now I fear the speed at which these are being pumped out takes away from the figures. I know getting 1/6 Trek is a miracle at this point, but it’s still a significant investment. I have zero customizing skill so if this is something that’s necessary to bring out a true likeness, this is a real bummer.
The lighting in those pictures is definitely very different. Look at the color on the clothing and the weapon. Much brighter on the right. Makes a big difference. The exo 6 sculpt out of the box is fantastic imo. You won't get better at this price point. The tailoring might be the best part tbh. I have seen good sculpts on figures but if the uniforms/outfits don't fit right, it ruins the final product. Not a problem with Exo 6 as far as I can tell.

I know these discussions tend to go off on tangents. But it seems to me the post that set this most recent controversy into motion was referring to a comparison and preference of the QMX sculpts/paint apps over the new EXO-6 sculpts/paint apps. And NOT a comparison with individual professional custom artist work.

I can understand why you are hesitant, but there is a custom thread in here for that reason. Don't let some people who are never satisfied keep you from sharing. Even if you don't share, they'll find a reason to complain.

There is not a figure produced, mass or custom that is perfect and I am completely fine with that. The obsession with all the details being exact and head sculpts looking like an exact shrunk down version of the actor sucks the fun out of this hobby.

I appreciate getting it as close as possible, but there is a point when nitpicking just sounds like people who need to relax.
If someone is expressing their opinion in a respectful and thoughtful manner it should have no bearing on you whatsoever. It’s interesting how some opt to dismiss differing viewpoints as “complaining”. If you’re on a discussion forum, it’s best to have an open mind and be objective and try to see where people are coming from, that’s the basis of a true debate. It’s far too easy in society now to dismiss rather to engage and thoughtfully challenge a viewpoint.

At the end of the day, everyone is here because we have a common interest. I didn’t see anything posted that crossed a line.

Guys, don't PO Nanjin. Without him, we would have NOTHING and he is so open and honest with us. I LOVE my Janeway. Is she perfect? No but she's still a great figure and i love posing her. I have no trouble swapping her hands, her weapons are great, she can stand perfectly, she's FUN. So please, be constructive but be nice. This is Nanjin's business but it's also his art.

I didn't want it to seem like I was complaining about the hands. I know pegs break sometimes. They do on EVERY figure. That's why they usually include extra pegs. Plus, I have big ugly sausage hands. I just wanted to know what pegs I should get to replace them, since I didn't expect Sideshow to send me any extras (But they did, so yay them!).

I'm extremely happy and excited about my Janeway figure. Especially because I'd just given up on ever having one of her a few years back.

Is there a way to get a new peg when you have ordered from EXO-6 directly?
Asking for a friend.

I imagine you ask Nanjin directly. He's mentioned before that when you buy from a retailer, that's who you contact, but if you buy from them you go directly to them.

There were also some posts, in answer to mine, earlier in the thread that talked about where you could get them as well.

Also also, if you come up empty-handed completely, I might still have one extra that Sideshow sent me.

Really? I must have missed those posts. I need to go back and look for them.
My friend says she was in contact with someone from EXO-6 and they said they would send some but that was months ago and she hasn't heard anything from them since nor received anything. And I am unsure what advise to give her.

I understand that the whole world and shipping anything in general is a madness right now so I don't blame anyone in particular, but I just feel sad that she can't enjoy her figure the way it is supposed to be enjoyed (it broke off right in the beginning), and I also feel responsible in a way so I would love to help settle this issue.

You were trying to handle an issue with the figure. I bet everyone here has had a wrist peg break.

It's more when a select few talk repeatedly about the paint, sculpt, etc not being up to their standards, no matter how good the figure turned out.

Yeah. If you want to see how bad it can get, look at the way people react to some of the new Hot Toys head sculpts. It's brutal.

Whilst I wait patiently for Q to somehow escape his Shenzhen continuum, i dream of how good the SNW cast will look in 1/6 scale...

Soooo…when are the TOS movie figs coming up for sale/preorder ?
I thought the TMP “two pack” was manufactured and ready for immediate sale at the time of the Chicago Convention at an “unbelievable price” because they were taking up room in the factory. Then the story got to Kirks uinform being redesigned because of incorrect color and Spock to be manufactured by a different company. And the “two pack” no longer being a ”two pack”. I also had expected TWoK Spock going up for preorder that weekend. The sequel and spin-off tv and movies characters aren’t quite doing it for me at the moment.
