Yeah he liked to throw his weight around a lot back then. When I heard he paired up with Nanjin I was like 'makes sense.'
Not soon enough, I'd guess considering we haven't gotten any TNG or Picard stuff revealed while season 3 is airing.About a month and a half wait after Picard S3 ends.
Wonder when we’ll start to see some SNW teases from Exo-6.

Was there a big change when ownership changed? Not trying to stir the pot just curious. I was pretty oblivious to Dave selling it until the whole sponsor thing came up on the LOTR forums (also had no clue that there may have been bridges burned or bad feelings on the whole thing). I did notice the name change but I just figured it was because Sideshow was no longer active like they used to be way, way, way back when I joined back in the heyday of Spooktacular with the Spook chat, etc. Man do I feel old now.I took a break a few years back because of toxic members spouting hatred and nonsense. I'm guessing these are those very people who got banned when the new management rolled into town.
So far I've been able to look past the snarky attitude and just enjoy the figures on their own... but he does make it pretty damn hard at times.Yeah, I’m really liking Nanjin less and less as he spews more bs. The nerve on the guy. He knows that many of us here buy products from him but still has no issue insulting us.

As far as toxic goes, I think what it is varies from person to person. Some may find a person’s words or implied tone toxic while others may not. They may just see it as venting, an opinion or something completely justified. For me, I just start skimming over or stay away for a while when I feel things have derailed into what I feel is too toxic for me to be around. I will say in my opinion (not necessarily other’s) the negativity has gotten worse in this section of late. Hopefully as more figures come out that changes.
It was WAY worse . . .
I love Trek too so it’s hard for me to turn away, but yeah Nanjin as of late with his snarky little attitude and comments is really a turn off.So far I've been able to look past the snarky attitude and just enjoy the figures on their own... but he does make it pretty damn hard at times.
Guess it's good for him that I'm way too much of a Trek diehard to ever give up on the line. And he's the only hope we have of seeing these figures get made.
100% agree. I don't do Facebook, and limit myself nowadays to just TWO collectible forums.
Reason? - because this and the other one I frequent are now VERY well moderated/staffed, and the majority of active members are knowledgeable, thoughtful, and community driven. That's not sucking up, it's simply the truth. I've settled where I feel welcome and comfortable.
Finding places where the yobbos/sociopaths are (mostly) kept under control is very rare these days, because moderation takes time & effort, and requires a fair & balanced personality that doesn't knee-jerk react OR let people get away with destructive behaviour.
Anyone that keeps pushing the envelope enough to sneak through & annoy me . . . that's where I find the "IGNORE" feature here REALLY useful
This lil' ol' place is the best it has ever been - and I really appreciate everyone that makes (and keeps) it that way
.
It all sounds very lucky. Some folks ask why I ask what the edition size of a “Limited Edition” is. hmmmm. Curious how many of these Kirks Nanjins “friend” might have for “NOT the MSRP”
He's just pissed because we're not "butt-huggers"Yeah, I’m really liking Nanjin less and less as he spews more bs. The nerve on the guy. He knows that many of us here buy products from him but still has no issue insulting us.
Yeah, the push is with VOY. I think we’ll be lucky if we see a figure from TNG (other than Locutus) ship out this year and one for DS9 other than Quark. Not soon enough, I'd guess considering we haven't gotten any TNG or Picard stuff revealed while season 3 is airing.
I am all in for SNW. Unless he makes the mistake of giving Una rooted hair. InArt is the only company that I'd chance rooted hair on. Everyone else uses that Barbie quality hair that makes things look bad.
Yeah, on the TMP Kirk and Spock subject, I said this over in the TMP thread, but it's interesting that Nanjin or his "friend" keeps "finding" stock of a "strictly limited edition figure" when retailers such as EE and BBTS have still yet to receive their allotment. Of course, the edition size was not actually revealed either. It all sounds very lucky.
A 'friend' is selling them, not him, so Exo-6 won't be obligated to fulfill any previously outstanding commitments. The figure was limited to two per customer, so the only way to have multiple stock is if it's Exo themselves or another retailer who bought stock, and now one of them is going to sell stock at a jacked-up price when people who ordered at the original price missed out?
This was brought up with him, and related questions previously, and he says third party retailers are not his concern.Yeah, on the TMP Kirk and Spock subject, I said this over in the TMP thread, but it's interesting that Nanjin or his "friend" keeps "finding" stock of a "strictly limited edition figure" when retailers such as EE and BBTS have still yet to receive their allotment. Felicia: I'm with Nanjin when it comes to toxic groups.
Best thing I ever did was leave those groups, Sideshows group, OSR etc. narcissistic peasants and power tripping hypocritical admins and just whining peasants all day.
It’s gross.
Wow. Un-frigging-believable. Sounds like a good, level-headed businessman to me. He just keeps making it harder and harder to justify buying these figures. This was brought up with him, and related questions previously, and he says third party retailers are not his concern.

That’s why it keeps winding up talking about what he’s said now. It’s his technique for staying in collectors’ thoughts. Even if we’re not liking what he’s saying, it still means we’re talking about him and that’s his game. We should really ignore his BS and that’ll take away his power, but some people will always worship him.
No he wasn't. He did say they weren't his problem either, which is more understandable. To be fair, he was referring to sub-resellers (fourth party?) not his direct partners.
But is it really feasible that EE and BBTS' stock is still in transit somewhere after all these months? Or are they in the same situation as Cotswold and Popcultcha and just don't know it yet?
Thank you. The hypocrisy on here is real on many levels. That said, unironically calling people peasants is what actually feels gross in that comment.
