Its very nice, but the PO is a chair 🤦🏻‍♂️

I was hopong for an actual character. Yes I know the importance and relevance of the captains chair along with display options etc etc…

…but the PO is for a piece of bloody furniture 🥱

I dunno. I just got my Captain Sisko desk today from 3D Trekker, and I'm happy as a pig in poo.
I was excited to see the D chair.

Honestly the guy seems to have problems if you ask me. It always seems like he’s scoping out any negative comment to turn into a fight that fits his narrative of him versus “e”xperts.
He seems very negative. I was wondering if that's a character flaw or diagnosis. Maybe he just doesn't have any friends.

lol what a harsh, aggressive reply.

I'd suggest just sitting back to you all and accepting who he is. This forum is obsessed about talking about him, complaining, etc. That is not productive and just ultimately helped push him out here (though I wouldn't be surprised if he still browsed). I mean what's the point? You're just all being mean to an old man now and just beating a dead horse. Let old man yell at clouds if he wants.

We get it. He's negative. Might not respond to things how a lot of you want him to. Okay. Lets be done with that. The conversation has gone full circle 500 times and it's changed exactly nothing.

Nanjin's Facebook posts are entertaining-he's informative & actually pretty funny. A better read than the Official Exo-6 page.
He gives as good as he gets- but while sticks to questioning "expert opinions"-some of you have the nerve to accuse him of "character flaws" or a "diagnosis"? Check yourselves!! Wow. 😂

Everyone has their own brand of crazy. People are only willing to spend hundreds of dollars on these characters because they are passionate and that means they advocate strongly for the exact thing that would satisfy them. Even if they got that, the guy standing right next to them would be complaining that they didn't get the exact thing that would satisfy them instead.

The atmosphere can be thin on Planet Me which means we can all act a bit crazy at times. I expect, having been pulled back and forth by different opinions, including management at QMX, Nanjin has decided the only person he wants to please is himself and keeps reminding everyone of that 🤪

Who knows how long this ball will keep bouncing? This will never happen again in my lifetime, though. Advocate for what you want, but you catch more flies with honey IMO. Unless you're a Venus fly trap.

He’s pretty obsessed with anything he views as critical. He can’t go a week without a rant about “e”xperts. It goes both ways and frankly it started on his end.

Yes and the point is, he is too often insufferable and we can't direct our frustration toward him so we sometimes have to vent here. There is nothing wrong with that.

It's not about coddling him so that he keeps producing. That has no effect on him. He will keep doing his thing regardless what we say or don't say. That's obvious.

Lol. Yeah but there is a lot of space between coddling and arguing. It's just a symptom of the Internet age. Polarise, entrench, never give up, never surrender!

We're not quite that bad on this forum though! Plus, I'm pleasantly surprised whenever they knock it out of the park. QMX Kirk did that to me. It got me collecting and I'm still collecting 8 years later. Oof.

Exactly. The amount of whining here is unreal.

It's not whining! When you enter into a professional arrangement with a company that seeks our monetary support through commerce, customers expect to be treated with a degree of respect that places value on the very support the company (or the man) seeks from us. And just about 100% - 1 of these companies (or men) also actively seek and value customer feedback in order to produce the products that are most likely to satisfy the very people who make the company's (or the man's) endeavor possible! So, when MANY of these customers receive THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what they expect and deserve in the act of civil commerce, they would be FOOLISH NOT TO vocally and passionately COMPLAIN!

Now, that the classic model. But this is BY NO MEANS what we have with EXO-6 and NT. I've said this before, but I guess I'll have to say it again until my forum mates who don't get it yet either accept it or block me!

1. EXO-6/NT is BY NO MEANS or by any measure anything close to the classic model. NT is producing these figures Firstly and primarily for HIMSELF. We, the customers, are nothing more than a necessary annoyance that he is forced to put up with because he could never foot the bill to create all this figures for his personal collection without the engine of mass production/economies of scale, and that forces him to let the public in on his game. But make no mistake, this is his PERSONAL PROJECT first, foremost, and always! And in that light, no one alive, save perhaps own his personal advisors, have any standing whatsoever in his mind to offer any thoughts at all on the process or the results.

1a. It's EXACTLY the same as if you were painting your own personal private vehicle, and you decide to go with a snappy shade of pink with purple racing stripes because you really like the way you think it will look racing down the highway. And then a neighbor you barely know comes up behind you and says, "Hey, that looks horrible. You really need to go with Fire Engine Red with white stripes or you'll embarrass the neighborhood!". If this were YOUR car, what would you tell this person? And now you know! This is EXACTLY how NT sees his figures.

2. SO, KNOWING ALL THAT, what do you do? There are only two choices. Since this is not a "normal" business model, you can't just walk down the street and buy your museum quality limited edition 1/6 scale Star Trek figures from the next merchant in line, because there is no such option. So if you want these products in your collection, your choices are:

A. Accept EXO and its founder for what they are, and buy what they offer if you want it with the understanding that your voice and your preferences, no matter well-intentioned, will be seen as out-of-place, valueless, personal attacks on NT's personal space. So, buy what you like, skip what you don't, and never expect any typical measure of respect from this company like you may have become used to in (every) other venture.

B. If you are SO insulted and so (understandably) Indignant about how you are viewed by this company, or by NT himself, that you cannot in good consciousness support the man or the company, then DON"T. Get your stuff from the Nacelle Company, or pray that one day someone else gets the license.

Either choice is fully reasonable. But I expect a VERY high percentage of this forum's membership will continue to go with option A because we are fully addicted to this hobby and passionate about our Trek.

That said, I fail to understand why discussing the latest fit of customer mistreatment offered by NT can't be openly discussed here without trolls trying to push the idea of "How Dare We"!

We are a group of collectors discussing our experience collecting. Just because the treatment we might get from this particular company can be seen as outrageous is no reason to try to inoculate the forum against talking about it. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but it's possible that one or two (but certainly not all) of the most vehement members who attempt to squelch all of the NT talk might well be NT plants or NT himself :ROFLMAO:.

There! Now don't make me write this novel again!

Your Truly,
QGF

I have to absolutely disagree. There is _everything_ wrong with spewing vitriol into the void for no good reason.

Nobody cares about yer hurt feelings, Kermie.
I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling that here.

I am not happy with many of the inaccuracies with figures I collect from different companies, and I have canceled many pre-orders, and sold off tons of stuff after receiving them; Hot Toys, InArt, Sideshow, etc. If I go to the Sideshow Facebook group and complain about the sculpt for some figure, I am guessing that it will be removed (not positive though). If I post something negative on the Hot Toys group, I am guessing it will just be ignored. I think the difference here is that NT is active on Social Media, though apparently he is not open to suggestion, or any kind of constructive criticism, and apparently will lash out at anyone that says anything he doesn't like about his stuff. At the end of the day art is subjective, and in his eyes for whatever reason he is always objectively correct. Not saying it is good, but it seems like that is not going to change with him. I see no issue with providing critique, though it seems likely that he is going to lash out, and not take any feedback into consideration, so I see the commonalities with him and the other companies being they essentially do what they want, and do not really listen to feedback (maybe in rare instances they do), though the main difference is that since he is active on social media he personally responds, and doesn't receive the feedback or criticism well...

I have actually known the guy for a very long time and he was actually a good friend but over time , I think the license approval he landed affected his relationship with many as he changed for the worse becoming suddenly confrontational and just strange.

In the early days when he had to sell underground fearing the studio, he was open and many on this forum actually helped him with encouragement , feedback and support including the owner of this site , Dave. I believe many on this site was his only customers in the beginning when he had to sell underground. He asked everyone to help him with marketing data, artist to use etc and when he made it, he turned on all his friends here which I think was the beginning of his “expert” propaganda spiel . It accelerated his “Expert idea” quickly when the owner Dave of this site sold this site and helped him start the business.

I am glad he is doing well but it is sad to see as so many helped him in the beginning from this site and ultimately he bailed on all his friends here.

He should have not “excluded “ his friends here but included everyone here as a celebration of friendship and respect to all the friends he made here but instead he turned it around using his secret club as a way to market himself and sell figures to crest more artificial demand possibly and you know how that idea went with him..
