Pretty sure he was not talking about production issues, but that to compensate for the tariffs he will have to reduce production quantities. Less quantities mean less time between figures, hence it will mean speeding things up. But it also means they might be harder to order.
That's how I read it. Tariffs = Higher prices (in the US, and possibly everywhere else if his costs go up) = Lower sales = Fewer of each figure produced = Faster turnaround times.

Wonder how this impacts their non-figure projects such as the Borg Alcove and Enterprise D Ops/Conn consoles, etc.

The consoles seemed fairly early in development. If they’re talking about lower production runs that means less runway to spread cost.

It would be really unfortunate if those things never come to pass, but at least we still have 3d Trekker, who does phenomenal work.

So can someone explain tariff mechanics? I fully understand the mark-ups, but do not understand exactly where that takes place. Is it added to the cost of the product when we purchase it or somehow billed afterwards? No one I’ve asked seems to know.

I believe it is paid by whoever brings it into the country. So if Sideshow brings in the figure they would pay it at customs and you would just see a higher priced figure but if you bought it directly from someone overseas then you would pay it. It probably would be calculated by the customs form and then in order to receive the package you would have to pay it.

Most of the time if you were buying it from a distributor I believe the cost would already be factored it. I think the only time you would see it as a separate cost that you would have to pay directly would be when you buy something from overseas.
