Ah, just stick Saavik in there. That's who it was supposed to be anyway. And honestly, I think that would have made it better.
Eh people keep saying that, but I wouldn't have wanted to see Saavik betraying Kirk and Spock and conspiring with racists to have a Klingon Chancellor killed. Especially with how it would immediately color our opinion of her in TWOK and TSFS as well.
I know we didn't learn a whole lot about her in those movies, but it would still seem wildly out of character to me.

Oh, my apologies.... I know we're in the Undiscovered Country thread, but when you said Valeris, I read "Valkris" from TWOK (who was seriously Hot) so maybe you're slightly less of a Perv than I originally thought.

It need not have been beat for beat the same. Spock might have persuaded Saavik to see the error of her ways.
Tbh, Saavik should have been in STV too. Perfect way to explore her heritage.
Oh I'm still a perv, just not about this.
