Glad that's all clear now. I thought that in an event so monstrously complex as a world war the outcome might've been a bit more involved than this.

How about this: of any country in the world that I can think of, there wouldn't be too many that, given the equivalent economic, industrial, cultural and military might the US currently enjoys, would manage the affairs of the world any more capably. On the other hand, I can name many, many countries that would almost certainly do a far, far worse job.

A country that is prepared to get its hands dirty where others aren't is always going to end up with some mud sticking.

No country is perfect, it's just the USA is still the new kid on the block in terms of being a very young country who is very powerful.

You get the piss taken out of you as your in our lives on our tv's etc everyday. Brits take the piss out of everyone including ourselves so never take it personally.
