Disk is fine. Just merged my character and tried to reload my first game. Still a no go.

Should I trade my first system in (only get $90 without the hard drive) or should I hold onto it as a back up?

So I go to merge my pub games money to my new character and it put it towards my first game. WHICH I CAN'T ACCESS!!!!!!

So not only did I lose all the stuff I did last night but the million ^^^^ing dollars I won in the pub games.

Call MS, they will send you one for free.

You just need to give them the serial numbers of both consoles.

All this stuff should be saved on your hard drive and your profile. I doubt those are corrupt.

Once you merger characters, you're done. It merged with my initial character so since I can't access that save file, I'm ^^^^ed.

Hopefully with the transfer cable you might be able to access your first game. That really sucks though. I would be hella pissed if I lost all my $$.

But if you can't access a saved file, then it's a problem with your hard drive, not your system. Your xbox being f'd up wouldn't corrupt your hard drive.

It sounds though that maybe his error occurred while saving....which could have corrupted his save file. With computers if that stuff happens - it usually ruins your file, so I would assume this might be the same case. But then I don't really know. Hopefully, this will not be the case.

That is the case. I can access my first game but it won't complete the load. It's there, but I can't get it to load so it's worthless. and that's the character who's got the money from the pub games.

Is this game by EA cause it sounds like the same problem we had on Nascar with our profiles locking up.

That stinks. Sounds very similar to what happened with NASCAR.

It's not EA. Considering that Loki's console has been doing the disk read error for some time, I'm thinking it's more a problem with his XBox than the game itself.

100% correct. It was just a horrible spot to get the read error and then my dumb ass not knowing there more than one character to choose from in the pub game merger.

It has nothing to do with the game which I love.

I'm almost at the same part I was last night so I'll do a pre-emptive save this time. If it freezes on me again while I'm playing this game (at all) I'll pick up an Elite. I'd like to wait for a sale but I won't let this piece of ^^^^ system ^^^^ up during Gears 2

Well Chris, I feel your pain then. This same thing happened to me when I was playing MGS4 on PS3. I was about 8 hours in, and my file was corrupted.

One of the coolest things is the money you get for rent. You can rent out any piece of property you own. And every 5 minutes you automatically get rent money. I've already gotten almost $300 from renting out my first trailer. But that's not the coolest part. The game keeps track of how long you are gone as well and you'll have a bunch of money waiting for you if you take a day or two off. That's awesome.
