They're $85 much easier to afford than the bust. Though IMO the GG pieces look really really bad. I mean talk about overpriced. I see the appeal of owning the original toys but these things I wouldn't spend a wooden nickel on.

That's because you completely miss the appeal and point of these, then.

Nah, I get the point of them. Its a way for GG to make a buck of the nostalgia of folks older than I in the toys they had as a kid.

Word. To say the GG Jumbo figures look "really really bad" is to literally say the same of the vintage Kenner line. And that ain't right.

Nah, the toys look odd I guess in a way but its different. These for $85 aren't worth it IMO. I saw the whole set up at SDCC and while it was neat to look at. Like a display at a museum compared to everything else I can't get myself to even consider it. They look bad I'm sorry. Compared to what else I can spend my money on these just aren't worth it.

Yeah only 2 years too late. Missed the window of opportunity to cash in on the excitement by 2 years. Great planning. :pow:duh:slap

:exactly: Star Wars stuff will sell regardless, but if they released anything ESB this year, or even had an announcement/pre-order during CV5 their stuff would fly off the shelves.

~~I don't really care anyways. I'm cutting back my collection so I'm being super selective on my purchases to only the best looking items. As cool as this looks it's definitely not making the cut.

I still don't get why the 30th anniversary is such a big deal to some of you.

I agree with Carl in that I would/will buy good ESB product no matter when the timing, but it seems odd to me that a collectible company wouldn't try to strike while the iron is hot.

:dunno

I'm not sure why everyone thinks fervor for products from the trilogy vacillates to any demonstrable degree based on the relative anniversaries of each film's release.

Other than it being an interesting marketing gimmick, I couldn't care less which film is having it's anniversary in relation to the products being released. Why should they limit themselves? Makes no sense to me. I'm just happy to see unique and well-made product from ANY of the movies!

I'm just anti-Ewok so when I saw the preview, I simply shook my head and moved on.

The same will happen when the inevitable Jar-Jar piece is released...

there is absolutely no chance I will buy any item with an ewok in it, unless that ewok is dead and skinned. trooper looks good though.

I haven't collected anything Star Wars for a few years now, but this is really funny! I was floored to see this as a diorama.

Would I spend $300 for this? Even $200? Hellz no.
But it is a funny piece. C'mon, ya gotta have a sense of humor about these things every once in awhile...

I agree its a funny piece. I do chuckle when I see it and not in a making fun of it kind of way.
