Quite a good deal for uk buyers in Tesco on this. Its online but iv heard its instore too. Buy Fallout and £15 live card and get £10 off. So the game and £15 xlive credit for £45. Will check it out later instore. Cant wait to play this .

Could someone with the PC please answer a few questions for me ?

Can you play this game without internet access? I live in the hicks and only get extremely slow and limited to 15 gigs a month. I want to play but if I have to DL tons of patches its pretty much worthless to me . Thank you very much my computer Tec gents!

Hmm...well, the main issue might be that the game itself is bigger than 15 gigs. Once you've got it installed, it shouldn't be a problem since Steam can be played offline and the updates shouldn't be too huge.

Can you buy a hard disc at the retail chains and load off the disc?

The more I play, the more I love. Just looted the Super Duper Mart (which was awesome)and am fighting a TON of raiders on a sidequest. The game's a blast and I love the new features. Anyone else notice how amazing the sound is? It's up there with Battlefield IMO. The guns and explosions sound fantastic. I also really like the second screen pipboy app. More useful and fun than I thought it would be. It's cool that you can look at all that stuff when you're not playing too. I set my expectations to "the moon", so there was a feeling of slight disappointment at first, but now that those are in check, I'm just enjoying the game for what it is (a great sequel to a great game) and having a blast.

I'm sure you can buy a hard copy, but these days, you still end up installing most of the game through Steam so I"m not sure how much of it is downloaded and how much comes off the disc. Hard copies are practically pointless on PC nowadays because of that.

My friend has it on PC and she told me that she had to install 25GB of the install over steam so sounds like internet is a must.

I can only assume that it's so quiet in here because everyone's playing it and having fun? I've got 20 hours in already and I'm having a hard time putting the controller down. I can already safely say it's my favorite Bethesda game to date and probably (certainly)my GOTY. It's not perfect, but what is..the game's amazing and only gets better the more I play.

9 hours in and I've hardly accomplished anything. I've just been wandering around accumulating a ton of crap. Then fast traveling back to sanctuary and stashing it all in my little base. I can't decide if I should break down everything I can that isn't valuable into components. I am kinda annoyed though. I was hoping a nuka cola fridge could store my colas and make them ice cold like in Fallout 3 and only discovered I couldn't after I made the fridge. Really annoying.

Also, this is pretty damn accurate.

Hehe, nice. I hated the sound of Dogmeat getting hurt, so I leave him at Sanctuary and take Codsworth instead.

My biggest problem with codsworth is that if I use charisma options, he can like and dislike it which can reflect on our relationship. On top of that, he's like leeroy Jenkins. He bursts into battle if he sees an enemy and he can sometimes kill them before you can get a shot off and Rob you of the xp.

Okay so I bought this today. I'll probably play it tomorrow night and sunday. I've never played fallout.

gimme tips or what should i expect or what

Codsworth loves it when you mod things, so just mod a bunch of stuff around him and he'll love you forever.

That's tough to say. The game is so huge and open ended it can be overwhelming. Just take it one thing at a time. It holds your hand enough to guide you toward recommended quests and tasks. If you decide to go wandering too far early on, you might get destroyed by tougher enemies. Otherwise, post any questions you have.

If your companion kills something you get the xp I'm pretty sure

I'm almost certain it's not all the time. I've had mole rats and feral ghouls pop up and codsworth cut them down before I could even get my weapon lined up. No XP. Only when I peppered them a few times before he kills them do I get XP. Good to know about the modding though.

Well F1 and F2 are pretty much different in every way from F3 and NV so no worries. The universe is the same that's about it :p But tbh I would stop looking for new info now, and just plunge in without any knowledge. There's nothing you really need to know and going in without knowledge would just make it more amazing!

I suppose the one thing that would be alright to know is to understand the setting a bit. It's essentially what the future was envisioned back in the 50s. Instead of inventing the microchip they stuck with vacuum tubes. They actually did invent the microchip at some point later but it essentially went unused. So while the setting seems old in some ways the bombs actually dropped in 2077 in the fallout universe. As I mentioned it's essentially what the 50s envisioned the future to be ;p Have fun!
